{Star Trek: The Next Generation} Fan Club

Should this club be changed to one for Star Trek in general or should it stay a club for TNG only?

It should be converted to a club for Star Trek as a whole, I'd like to be able to talk freely about all series!

After going over a year watching little to no Star Trek because I didn't want to see TOS reruns and could never find TNG episodes uploaded on YouTube, I was beginning to believe my previous and more well-known username "StarTrekFan4Life" was no longer accurate...now, I've dismissed that thought because I recently discovered TNG comes on TV every night and I haven't neglected to miss it since finding this out. (Plus, the first episode comes on again next week, so I'll be able to watch every episode in order from then on. :D )
Once a trekkie, always a trekkie!

I've also been reconsidering my old idea of creating a CS Star Trek Army...not yet sure whether or not I will though.

Welcome to the club, Gary Lockwood and Lunar Kitty!

So you guys, any favourite episodes? :) I love the one with the time loop. I'm a huge fan of time and time paradoxes and things so naturally my favourite movies are The Voyage Home and First Contact.

Who doesn't love Data?
Off the top of my head, the episodes I enjoyed the most (that I've seen) are "Elementary, Dear Data" "Ship in a Bottle" "Datalore" "A Fistful of Datas" and "Thine Own Self." ...can you guess who my favorite character is? XD

It's nice to see people want to revive this club. Shame on me for not posting here more often! *feather-dusts thread*

Your Username: Spock.
Your Favorite Character: ... All of them. If I have to chose, probably Geordi or Data
How Long Have You Been a Trekkie? Only a little over... I can't remember if it's one year or two. So I haven't seen all the series, but I finished TNG about a week ago. Except the movies, sadly.

You're not the only one who's favorite character is Data. "Elementary, Dear Data" has to be one of my all time favorites... though it is difficult to chose.

I think it's actually a real shame that we don't have just a Star Trek fanclub here. There is a TOS club and a TNG club but I love them all. I want to talk about Chekov and Data and Bashir and Paris in the same thread! I love all the characters so much. <3
Have some Data & Bashir:

I love the two of them together.

Honestly we kind of talk about all of them. We focus on TNG, but we all like them all and it's a tiny fanclub, so we really talk about whatever we want. I love Chekov, I'd like to talk about him.

Heh heh heh, while my parents went to watch Star Wars Rogue One, I stayed home and made a model of the Enterprise out of office supplies

@Tsar
I haven't been watching a lot of Star Trek either, but I did gather up all of my Star Trek merchandise and dedicated a whole shelf on my bookshelf to it when I reorganized. Actually, I had too much stuff to fit on that shelf so a lot of it is still sitting around my room.

Chekov is my absolute favourite! I was so sad when I heard that Anton Yelchin died, when I went to see the movie in the theatre so I brought my small Russian flag as a tribute. <3

Lucky for me my entire family consists of Trekkies! :D I was literally born and raised a Trekkie!

Also, random but I love your avatar and signature set. I may have left the Hetalia fandom but I've always been a huge fan of the Baltic States and their history (this has nothing to do with Hetalia, I just fell in love with Estonia when I visited it and it spread from there). So, seeing the characters that represent them makes me really happy. ^^

Most people's reaction after seeing the first episode of Hetalia for the first time: what?
My reaction: oh my gosh they didn't forget the Baltics! Baltic characters! <3 <3 3

lol

My family is all Trekkies and Star Wars fans, too! They have great taste in movies so I never have to be stuck watching something boring. It's always something exciting and nerdy.

Chekov was my favorite in the original series and I loved him just as much in the new movies. Anton Yelchin did an amazing job. I wonder if they're going to write off Chekov's character (probably just mention that he was assigned to another ship) or try to find another actor. I don't want to lose Chekov but I don't think any other actor can fill in for Yelchin.

I've pretty much left the Hetalia fandom, too, I just don't do too much on CS anymore either so I haven't changed my siggy.

@ Lunar Kitty & Immortalkitten
I'm almost convinced now that there should be a fanclub for just Star Trek in general. When I talk about TOS here, I feel like I'm going off-topic in a way. Converting the thread into a club for unlimited discussion of all Star Trek series would be nice.
"Your creator went through a lot of trouble to make you seem human." Lol, Dr. Soong must've overlooked the small but important detail that most humans don't have skin as white as a ghost.

Chekov is the reason I decided to learn Russian a while back and admittedly, I had a crush on him when I was younger... xD He's still my favorite TOS character and I've continued to slowly but surely learn to speak Russian. The Chekov in the reboot movies always annoyed me for some reason...it's still sad Anton Yelchin died though.

Data also inspired my plans for my future career - to go to Osaka University and learn more about AI, actroids and the like. My love for Star Trek may fade in and out but it's definitely had an influence on my life nonetheless.

I've escaped the Hetalia fandom too and I've mostly lost interest in all anime tbh.

I agree, I see no need why the TOS and TNG should be separated? And why Voyager and DS9 should be left out completely? It's kind of sad.

I think Data was made so pale so he could be distinguished from humans. Imagine the uproar if an artificial lifeform was created that looked exactly like a human. All the other details were probably done to make Data seem like an actual living humanoid, not necessarily a human.

I put up a new poll to see what people think about converting the thread to a Star Trek army. Tell me if you want me to elaborate; the poll question had to be 100 characters or less so I couldn't put my lengthy explanation up there.

That makes sense. (Though speaking of which, I was watching TNG the other night with my mother - who had apparently only seen TOS before - and she said that Data looked like a vampire... I hope I don't have any weird dreams because of that...)

On another note, I finally got around to buying a box of Earl Grey tea, which I've wanted to try for a while now because of Picard. I had a cup and I didn't particularly dislike it, but it wasn't that good. I'm more of a coffee person anyway... ah well, it was fun trying something new.
