"I believe it was.." AppleSplash whispered, her gaze fixed on FoxStar. She then tilted her head back, and let out a loud yowl: "FoxStar is dead!"

"Is she not getting up?" Mintbrook's voice was scared as she padded over with a wince. She looked at Foxstar's still body in shock. "Oh no! Was that her last life?" she wailed. Her eyes were wide with sorrow. "You're our leader now, Watershadow," she said quietly.

"I was just made deputy, but it seems to be time for me to fulfill my duty to the clan." WaterShadow stood up, "we will rest here and mourn Foxstar, tomorrow I will travel to gain my nine lives."

Lunarkit woke to a cat yowling FoxStar. She already knew... FoxStar was dead. She overheard the conversation. I don't want to get involved, she thought, its not my place, she closed her eyes curled into Dovekit and slept. She dreamt of chasing butterflies and swimming in rivers.
