It's probably the only good solution, but there's something missing: how to fairly determine who gets to buy the limited quantities?

Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

It isn't fair to make people pay more than they did originally either though.

Although the store bun went omg so rare, at the same time it's a bunny. For those of you who are worried you won't be able to obtain it, I feel like it will most likely lose a lot of it's craze and demand in a few months once people remember that it's a bunny and reignite their dislike for bunnies lol. At least... I hope this will happen.

This is arguable. It could be unfair for that reason. It could be fair because of the time factor (not sure how to say this; spent a few minutes rewording this and I gave up; I'm thinking of the difference between "I have to pay a thousand but you only
have to pay twenty" vs "I have to pay a thousand but you only
had to pay twenty")

But .... if you were to pay C$ for a pet currently on the list, you would be paying more then the original C$ cost when it first came out - example the Orange Cerb, not only that, if these store pets were re-released and able to be purchased for their current value, players would take advantage of the demand some of these store pets that are on the list - the RAven Dog is worth 80C$, but demand causes the Raven dog to go for way more then its value - 700C$+ or Sorbet+ if you get the right offers
limited quantities means those who can buy them first, most likely will buy them just for pure profit, and not to add to their collection
Store pets shouldnt be re-released
