harper chuckled, hopping into the drivers seat. he put one hand on the wheel, and held brooks hand with the other. it was hard to consentrate with brook next to him. he would always get all fuzzy inside when he's with her. they arrived at the restaurant. large letters spelled out 'the shore'. he smiled, and got out.

brook undid her seatbelt, stepping out of the car. the restaurant was called 'the shore' and it looked a lot more formal than she had expected. brook kept hold of harpers hand, refusing to let go.

harper held her close as they walked in. he explained he had a reserved table for two, and was seated. it was nice open restaurant, and he hoped brook liked it. "so, what do you think?" he asked.

"it looks amazing, fancy too. are you sure it's not expensive?" now that she'd seen it with her own eyes, she wasn't convinced it was cheap. brook sat down in the seat opposite harper, and looked around the building taking in her surroundings.

"were here now." he told her, smiling. he put his hand on hers. he hoped this night meant as much to her as to him. he opened his menu, and immediately realized the prices were put right smack next to every dish. "anything catching your eye?"

brook picked up the second menu, and looled through the choices. one thing that caught her eye in particular however, were the high prices. extremely high prices. "harper i thought you said the prices weren't high." she said bluntly, raising an eyebrow at harper.

harper froze. he started fidgeting with his hair, and finally spoke. "don't look at the prices." he told her, ending with a smile. "if this is our first date, i'd rather it be special." he explained, hoping it was a good enough answer.

brook did her best to keep a straight face with him. she was almost going to give in, but she refused. "well we can't exactly enjoy ourselves if we can't even afford it!" she pointed out.

harper frowned. "don't worry, i'll pay for it!" he pleaded. he had been saving up for a special occasion, and this was for sure a milestone. "please?" he did a pouty lip, in hopes to bring a bit of laughter into the conversation.
