Devin is a small town boy with big ambitions. He grew up in his family's studio apartment, above their bakery. His mother is a baker and her husband is a botanical illustrator. His parents raised him to not hold back in expressing himself. He tried all sorts of art types, but found that he loved paintings, taking inspiration from landscape painters. He's always been enthralled with the natural world, wanting to capture it realistically for all to see. Recently, he's been in a painting slump and has switched to photography, and found that he's really been enjoying it. He aims to get his art used in botanical magazines. An environmentalist, he wants to use his art to send a message promoting love of the earth and encouraging a switch to sustainable energy. Devin currently works at a grocery store. His manager and boss is Senka, one of his close friends.

Devin is a soft-spoken, positive boy. He puts his heart into everything he does, putting his best foot forward. Because of this, it hits him hard when, for example, a customer gets angry at him or a painting doesn't turn out how he'd like. He takes negative comments, even simple offhand ones, to heart and gets discouraged easily. He needs a stable support system to push him. His main motivation comes from those around him. Often, the only nudge he needs to start a project is a word of encouragement from a friend. Devin is self-conscious and paranoid that people find him annoying. When someone doesn't like him he stresses over it and tries to "fix" whatever it is about himself that he perceives as the reason for the other person's dislike. He wants to please everyone. Devin is quietly extroverted, enjoying the presence of others yet feeling exhausted when he's exposed for too long.

His main goal in life is to make a difference in the lives of future generations. He seeks to do this through environmental activism and art. He has a constant fear in the back of his mind that his efforts will fail and the environment will slowly deteriorate. He feels saddened by the fact that future generations might not have access to all the beautiful plantlife that he loves, so he takes photos and paints endangered species. He enjoys time-lapse photography, particularly the leaves changing in the fall. He arranges such photography into videos that he posts online to share with people who live in climates that don't have the autumn season.

Senka had a pretty uneventful childhood, has a big interest in cryptids and wants to figure out a way to make them "real"-- through costume design, acting, getting into the mindset, magic, alchemy, he's up for trying anything. He's just really fascinated by the concept of monsters. He and Devin meet when Devin gets hired at the grocery store Senka is manager at. They hit it off, quickly become best friends to the point where they tell each other everything, no secrets. Senka's favorite thing that gets him through the day is playing small pranks on Devin when theres a lull in their workload. They become so close that they end up basically living at each others houses, picking a house to go to after their workday and crashing there while watching movies. They're very close and trust each other so much.

For a while, Devin pines after Senka and is unable to tell him about the massive crush on him he has. Long story short, after a run in with some vampires that almost leaves the two of them dead Devin throws his inhibitions to the wind and they finally get together. Senka, having finally come into contact with a real life cryptid, is scared for the safety of the people around him and stops trying to summon/create them. He refocuses on protection against the supernatural. People at work come to know him as "a delusional conspiracy theorist," because he starts to warn people against going into the woods at night because of "horrifying monsters that can crush you with one hand." No one believes him but Devin.

As parents they're very loving!! Senka is a very protective dad, and Devin is the doting type parent, showering his kits in love and affection and spoiling the heck out of them. Devin thinks his kids can do no wrong. As they get older, Senka gets overbearing with how protective he is of them, so it's up to you if they rebel or something or not lol. They will never be abusive. They'll make mistakes as parents and they won't be perfect, but they won't abuse their kids.

I'd prefer if the kits at least grew up with the family, but after that you can do whatever you want. I'm open to headcanon, and I'm sure you can contact the owners of the other kits for family relationships, but keep in mind that I don't have a lot of free time these days so my replies will be slow.

Personality: At first, Zuriel was a sweet, innocent angel. He just wanted love. And love came in the form of toxic friends, who made him snappy and stubborn. He's always been a natural leader, and tells his friends he'll never leave them, but he's only reassuring himself. Poor angel, all alone. [50/50]

Senka sets a harsh curfew for this kit and their siblings at 6 o'clock every night! How does this kit react?: Zuriel adores his parents. He never complained in the beginning, for he never wanted to make them unhappy.
Then one day it changed. That day when a group of kits came up to Zuriel, charmed him. Zuriel wanted to be like them. He wanted to fit in, and so he changed. Zuriel knew their parents didn't make their curfew so early. It was so unfair! That day when 6:00 came around, Zuriel lashed out. He told his parents he hated them and their curfew, and that he had better friends with better parents.
That night he ran away.
That morning he came back, crying.
Zuriel loves his parents. He never wanted to yell at them, and he never meant the things he said. He still argues with Senka about the curfew though, because he just wants to fit in with his friend group. Sometimes Zuriel felt like an outcast at school, with his overprotective parents. Sometimes he felt like an outcast at home, with his rebellious behavior.
But he still loves his family.
Unconditionally, without fault.
Zuriel adores his parents.
