"without you, i'd squish her within a week." he joked, sitting down at the table. he grabbed a small string, and put it in front of the cat. the cat started pouncing on it, and it was quite the cute sight. although girls find things like this cuter, so he's expecting a reaction.

brook smiled at harper, watching him play with the kitten. she looked at him, faking a pout. "did you get bored of me so quickly?" she complained, pretending to be upset with the fact he was playing with the cat.

harper chuckled. "completely. this cat has taken over the most beautiful thing in my world." he teased, smirking at her. he continued to play with the small cat, watching it jump up and down. he pulled brookyn's chair closer, throwing his arm over her shoulder.

brook put her paw over her chest where her heart was, and pretended to be upset. "my heart is crying. she said, acting dramatic. she laughed a little, and kissed him on the cheek before resting her head on his shoulder. brook watched the kitten, smiling as she played.

harper blushed, and smiled. he barely felt the slap from before, and decided to focus on brook. "it's getting a bit late. should we eat?" he asked. the cat started to get bored with the toy, and curled up in brooks lap. brook was obviously the favorite.

brook nodded in agreement, and smiled at harper. "yes of course. are you going to cook, or should we order take out?" she asked him curiously. she would suggest going out somewhere for dinner, but she wasn't entirely sure if they could afford it. well, brook knew she couldn't anyway. she had to save her money to pay for her apartments rent.

harper blushed, as an idea came to mind. "we could go out to dinner? there's a nice place not too far, and it's a nice night." he suggested. it was quite the fancy restaurant he had in mind, and their outfits were exactly fit for the formal dining. "it's a bit formal, so if you wanted to go, I think we should change first." he said, scratching his hair.

brook opened her mouth to reply eagerly, but stopped herself. harper mentioned that it was formal, so it gave her the impression that it was expensive. "it's not expensive, is it?" if it was expensive, brook would refuse to go. of course she'd help pay, but it would still probably be a lot even if the bill did get split between them.

harper bit his lip for a moment. yes, it was a little expensive, and a little above his usual price, but if it was their first date, he wanted it to be special. at least, he thought it was a date. "not really." he lied. "it's just not sweat pants and a tshirt kind of restaurant." he told her, half jokingly. he choked, scared she was going to refuse.
