I don't think they did. Or, at-least I haven't heard about it. I think everyone is expecting it because previous volumes were 12 episodes.

RWBY has left plenty of questions answered before, but definitely not to this state. I'm sure there will be maybe a couple more episodes if it's not confirmed already that it ends at 12.

@above- Actually it has been confirmed that episode 12 is the finale sad to say... Don't forget that some of the team (including Barb) are out in Sydney, Australia for RTX there And for you lovelies:
