Adderpaw looked confused. "Then why did you.." The tom lashed his tail. "Nevermind." He looked back at the flow of cats leaving the sanctuary. His paws itched to be going. He glanced around for Flamefall but didn't spot her. Violetpaw didn't seem to have her mentor alongside her either. Swallowing his pride Adderpaw turned back to her. "Since our mentors are busy we could leave together?" he suggested. He could hardly keep his fur flat thinking about getting out. Finally a chance to roam and hunt. They could learn all the things they were supposed to be learning while they were locked up here.

older and smarter, so that's your excuse. the young tom pondered, a single ear pinned flat in a rare show of irritation. lachlan wanted nothing more than to get away from yew at the moment. the sugary way he spoke, the way he carried himself, lachlan felt incredibly uneasy around him. swallowing his nerves despite yew's tone, the tom spoke up, even as his voice shook and stuttered. "n-no." he answered simply, his tone somewhat upping in confidence. "i'm no kit. i've lived by myself for months." lachlan added. yew's condescending, patronizing nature had made the tom show an incredibly rare, yet subtle surge of annoyance. lachlan had lived alone his entire life after his mother passed away of illness using pure stealth and caution. even if he was young, he would not stand to be patronized.

The large grey tom watched over his clan, making sure all queens and elders were let through first. He followed an elder through the fence and thanked the sanctuary cats for their work that morning. Boulderstar turned and gazed at the long expansion of land ahead. The outside skirts of the sanctuary were riddled with many flowers, though the tom bet that none of them tasted that good, or were edible anyways. From what he could see, the only real prey to hunt at the moment seemed to be voles and possibly birds in the distance, but nothing was certain.

noel raised her muzzle to speak before her thoughts were interrupted by ashmoon. she cocked her head towards him and greeted him with a quiet meow. she noted how he was just barely taller than her, causing her to question how training would go if they were the nearly the same size. she shrugged off the thought and made a mental note to bring it up later before speaking.

"that's fine if you're distracted. it looks like she could be giving birth in a few days, but i hope it can wait until we find a camp or at least somewhere to settle down for a night or two." she admitted with a chuckle, looking over the black tom's shoulder in search of his mate. "and if you don't mind, i could totally walk with you guys. maybe we could talk about the training? i'm not exactly sure what apprentices do, but from the current ones complaining, i hear it involves a lot of chores." she joked, chuckling once more. as she had failed to find her mentor's mate, she decided to keep quiet and allow the tom time to respond to all of her bumbling.

xxxxxpebblepond followed after the tabby queen, nearly tripping over one of the kits. She apologized quietly before turning away from the hole in the fence and slumping against it. She parted her lips in a quick yawn before looking over at Tornado and her kits.

"So, I think i'm going to request that I mentor you, if Boulderstar lets me, of course." Pebblepond informed the tabby molly. Her blue gaze drifted to the kits who ran rings around their mother. "Great, they'll have lots of energy to burn on the walk to.. well.. wherever we're going."

Birch padded through the fields, simply enjoying the scenery. Even though he had lived in the same flowery fields for his whole life, he still found it relaxing. He had almost no worries, he didn't have to steal food from any clan's territory, there weren't many, if any, loners or rogues around, and not many predators either. The only thing he really needed to worry about was 'the dead forest', which was rumored to have Dark Forest cats in it, although he had hunted there once or twice and never even seen a possible sign of one.

Suddenly, he smelled something strange, and quickly realized it was the scent of a fox. It was faint, but it was still there, and Birch decided to leave the area he was in for a while. He burst off running, and soon realized he had gone farther from the spot than he had expected. The place he was in was around the 'borders' of where he lived. He had never stayed in this area for a long time, but for some reason he felt like exploring. He walked kind of far away from the fields, although remembered to stay close enough to get back.

"that was what i was afraid of. how are we going to keep track of them?" Tornado said as she herded her kits closer to her, "i would love for you to do that. i am not sure that i would be able to stand any other cat to do it."

Tornado gave a slightly laugh, and smiled warmly at Pebblepond. there was a growing feeling in her chest that made her afraid.

"Lachlan, you are right. i am sorry." Yew said in a sincere tone, "you have lived alone, you have survived alone, but you have not thrived alone. i can teach you how to do that, if you will let me. there is a lot more to life then just staying alive."

Yew was not sure if this change would work, but he needed to make sure that he could trust Lachlan to keep his muzzle shut before sending him to the clan. the young tom was way too flighty for him to be with them right now; it would ruin everything.

xxxxxPebblepond returned the chuckle and shrugged. "The entire clan will probably have an all seeing eye on the kits. I wouldn't blame them, I know my father is excited about the fact that we've gotten four new kits." She admitted to Tornado as they waited around for the rest of the clan to escape. "And I don't know who else he would choose. There aren't as many warriors in the clan as there were moons ago." She spoke truthfully. Moons ago, an illness had spread through the clans like a forest fire, shoving it's way into each camp and flooding it with the sickness. Pebblepond would know best; her mother was taken out by it, alongside warriors upon warriors.

Quailtail stood with her clan as they got ready to leave through the fence. Excitement tingled in her paws and through her body at the thought in a few moments they will be free again.
