ehhh i have to disagree on that. swiftpaw wasn't forced to go. she was caring for her clan-mates by saving the entire clan by thistleclaw's wrath. she was kind of forced to be leader. either that or the entire clan would fall apart. there was no option. when it comes to love, sure, that was messed up. she didn't have to have kits. i have to admit that part was selfish since her kits would never know their real mother and she was putting them all in danger. but swiftpaw was another story. she never forced him to go, and after tigerclaw betrayed her she lost all hope and trust. it's honestly all tigerclaw's fault for swiftpaw's death. he brought the dogs into the territory after all. but she didn't care just for herself. it might of seemed that way since she didn't make them into warriors, but i think you can't really blame her for that. tigerclaw literally destroyed all of her trust by almost killing her and she was growing older, weaker, and ... well ... crazy. i just can't see how she was selfish but i understand how you might think so. it's just my opinion though :')

i personally loved bluestar. tigerclaw is who i ultimately despise. he's so disloyal and if anyone's selfish i believe it's him x'D

I agree with storm coming, who posted as I was writing this. Tigerstar is also to blame.
Ok, jumping into the Bluestar debate. She suffered from depression, simple as that. Her mother was killed, her sister was killed. Her sister's mate was competing with her for the only position she had ever wanted in life. She had to give up her kits, and lost one in the process. She was pretty much never allowed to see the only cats she loved in the world again. And saying she caused Mosskit's death: In the books, forbiddon relationships NEVER turn out well. Ever. That's like saying Greystripe caused Silverstream's death, or Mapleshade caused the death of her kits. Swiftpaw's death is a bit different. He was trying to prove to Bluestar that he was ready to be a warrior. However, it is up to a mentor to decide when their apprentice is ready. And who was his mentor? Longtail. Blaming Bluestar for Swiftpaw's death is just like blaming Longtail. If Longtail thought his apprentice was ready, shouldn't he have gone to Bluestar and told her? His ceremony was 6 months overdue. That's double the apprenticeship. Bluestar was trapped in her own mind by grief and pain. Longtail really should have done something, and is actually more to blame than Bluestar, in my opinion. I'm not saying that Bluestar had nothing to do with it; I am saying she was a factor, and was what the apprentices were aiming for. However, again, mentors are supposed to give their apprentices assessments and decide when they become warriors, then consult the leader. (If I have anything incorrect, bear with me. I haven't reread that arc in a while.)

@Cocoawolfey-Thats what it seemed like. I can understand that she was old and so much got to her, but there is such a thing as overreacting. to be honest my favorite leader was Crookedstar or Onestar


@storm coming- Actually the dogs were in Thunderclan's territory before Tigerstar began to use them. They escaped and made home in thunderclan territory. What made me mad was that she chose one apprentice to make warrior.

@seedcakes- Firestar told Bluestar that both mentors though of the apprentice's as worthy. She refused to listen to Longtail.

what was the first warrior cat book that you read and what led you to discover the overall series?
Well My First Book Was Midnight, The First Book Of The New Prophecy. And I Heard My Best Friend Talking About It Much I never Really Listened To Her Fangirling Though.

*SPOILERS* most likely in all my posts there will be spoilers as we are discussing the plot in the books after all.

i completely forgot that the dogs were already in the territory... but there is still tigerstar to blame. the dogs would of long been gone if he hadn't lured dead prey around the territory. so technically, i wasn't entirely wrong? of course i wasn't right but i haven't read the first series in years so i might make a few mistakes with my facts. bluestar only chose him because cloudpaw was related to fireheart and like seedcakes said she had depression and that was the only cat she could really trust. again, this is because of tigerclaw. my hatred for that character is so outrageous it's almost unbelievable x'D but i know, it was unfair to not make the other apprentices warriors. it still doesn't mean she forced them to attack the dogs. she might of influenced them to do it by making them want to prove themselves, but it was mainly their fault since they didn't think of what could happen. i'm just saying, bluestar is not to blame for their death. i agree entirely with seedcakes. the mentors are ultimately to blame. this is because the mentors should have been more responsible and kept track of their apprentices as well as teach them not to attack dogs alone when it's very dangerous. i believe they did try to tell bluestar they were ready to become warriors, though. longtail did, i believe? or am i mistaken? i might be considering i haven't read the first arc in quite some time.

I hate Tigerstar so much! I also hate Ashfur, Breezepelt, and (I know im going to be fussed at. Starclan help me) I hate Bumblestripe

"I get it, okay? You don't like me the same way I like you. I'll get over it. I'm just disappointed you weren't the cat I thought you were."
honestly... just because she doesn't like you doesn't mean you can pull the disappointed card. am i right or ?? i don't really necessarily hate him but let's just say i don't necessarily like him either.

and i could vent about tigerstar all day. i'm certain i'm not the only one who thinks he is a power-play.

but i loved ashfur. many people hate him and i can see why... but i just really like that character. i mean not when he tried to kill squirrelflight and her kits but before he was evil and all. when he liked squirrelflight... he was such a sweetheart. but bramblestripe and squirreflight belonged better together since they're both so moody and bossy. no offense, but she wasn't one of my favorite characters. leafpool for the win.

don't get me started on breezepelt... i really liked crowfeather though... he and leafpool are one of my favorite ships in the series!!
