"You need to pay attention when Soaringbird talks." He noted right after, a vaguely chastising tone to his voice as he did so. "Come on, let's go."

"Ah... I'd like that a lot," Alpha noted with a slight smile, though she shook her head right after. "but I don't think I'll be chosen to mentor one of them. Even when they're old enough, I still wouldn't have been within the clan very long." Her ears flicked back briefly. "If I were Leopardstar, I'd wait until the clan really trusts me, any way. That doesn't happen all that quickly a lot of the time."

Splashfoot thought for a moment "Yeah.. I gues you got a point... Maybe Leopardstar will let you watch and observe one of the mentors while they train their apprentice? It will give you experience and you would have a better chance of bonding with the other clan members, all you'd have to do is ask, im sure he's let you." Syris let out a small sigh "I really wish I could come back as well, but you know I'm not a clan cat..." He said softly as he gazed down at her, he really did feel bad about the whole situation but he wasn't a clan cat and he didn't know the first thing about being one. Sure he came from a harsher background than most clan cats and probably would do well in a clan, from a fighting and hunting standpoint, even though he would have his own ways of doing things. He just felt like he wouldn't be welcome, or wouldn't fit well in, besides, he was raised a loner and only went near clans, well because of Bumblewing.

The white warrior waved her bright ginger tail at Bumblewing before moving back into the trees to give the pair privacy.

You and I both know that its what's best for the kits, they cant be raised out here, they can get sick, the clans know medicine, if the kits get sick the can be taken care of.." Finchkit intook a sharp draw of breath. "Hhh! I do not like the possibilities that result from that outcome!" He gasped/yowled, ducking underneath his mother's tail. It was something he had done since kithood, as he felt that it would hide him from whatever was frightening to him. Of course, he was almost apprentice-aged, and it didn't do much good now.

"Them being on fire would certainly make for better training." Vipereye commented idly, his voice remarkably even for the conversation's topic. One could almost be forgiven for assuming he was being serious. {He only partially was. They would make for better training while on fire, but he wasn't actually encouraging the idea.} His eye flickered back towards Tom, patiently waiting for him to finish so they could actually get started on the patrol.

"I... may do that, actually." Alpha answered slowly, her voice thoughtful as her head tilted slightly. It was a good idea, she couldn't deny. She probably should have thought of it before. Tom went over to Vipereye and the patrol, his head lowered. "S-Sorry for the wait..." He mumbled. He brought his head up and looked at the other two that were on the patrol. Emberpaw and Pineflame... All he really knew of the two is that they are close friends. Well, and the fact that Emberpaw is almost as crazy as Puddleheart. Removing the thoughts from his head, he looked to Vipereye with a flick of his tail, signaling he was ready to take off.

Emberpaw nodded to Vipereye's order, putting a mental note to actually listen to his mentor for once. However, the tom's eyes widen at Pineflame's suggestion, smiling. "That would be a great idea!" He exclaimed, sounding fully serious. He was trotting in place, ready to start going and get some flaming pinecones.

Jinx sat by the bank of a stream that was a small walk from Stoneclan, enjoying a small vole she had earlier. She gracefully took swift, clean bites from the prey, enjoying the taste. Everytime she sat to eat, it made her think of how the tom taught her how to stalk prey, birds to be exact. With a sigh, she rested her head on her soft paws, looking at the rippling water. She knew it was childish of her, but she did have a liking toward the tom.

He'd almost be concerned if it weren't for the almost total lack of faith he had in Emberpaw's ability to consistently keep pinecones aflame long enough to actually throw them. "Let's go." He stated, standing as Tom finally joined them. His eye flickered to Pineflame, then to Emberpaw, a fairly obvious request for help keeping an eye on them as they patrolled, before he started for the camp entrance.
