Greg narrowed his eyes at her question, trying to remember how old he was when he came to Camp Half-Blood for the first time. "This'll be my... fourth year?" The wrods came out as a question on accident, but he decided to go with it. "I'm assuming you're new here; I haven't seen you around much." Exactly -- much. He'd never seen her before those brief seconds not too long ago, but it was better than never being able to see her at all.

Kat strode briskly up from the Ares table to the sacrificial flame. Her heavy combat boots made it sound like she was stomping and the clink of both spear and sword on her waist made her look slightly scary. As she scraped the best part of her meal into the dancing flames she felt comfortable and glanced to where the brown robed girl was sitting. Kay nodded in recognition as Lady Hestia gave her an encouraging nod and motioned to where an Aphrodite Cabin girl and a son of Poseidon sat next to each other. Following the goddesses unspoken advice, she walked closer.

The pair seemed to be talking about Capture the Flag that was on later. Kat remember that, though there had been a few offers, her cabin had not teamed up yet. 'Thank you for reminding me, Lady Hestia', she thought, and then moved over to the Athena table. "Hello, Rowen. Can I have you on my team for capture the flag?" Her voice was surprisingly musical, with a commanding and fierce air to it, but Kat's eyes were friendly enough.

A small smile formed on her mouth, "Yeah, I'm very new." She looked around her and sighed. "No one else is in my cabin, so it's kind of hard." Ruby thought about the events that have happened since she's been here... none. Nothing has happened. She was secretly excited for Capture the Flag tonight, she hoped her godly parent would soon claim her. She was getting sick of this... wondering.

Greg gave a small nod, a look of newfound realization on his face. "That would explain why I don't know you." He would have asked which cabin she was in, but since she was sitting at the Hermes table and she was very new, she was most likely unclaimed. Lucky for him, his father claimed him just a few days after he came to camp at thirteen. When it dawned on him that he should probably introduce himself, he did just that. "I'm Greg, by the way. What's your name?" The question gave him a sense of deja vu, feeling reminiscence of kindergarten.

"My name is Ruby Dare. Nice to meet you." She paused and pushed her food to the side, then looked at him. She blinked back into reality a bit, "Do you know who you're alliances are for Capture the Flag tonight?" She asked casually, hoping for an answer in her favor. She sort of wanted to be on his team, her first friend. Who wouldn't?
