harper smiled. "sure, of course." he told her, listening to the meows here and there. he turned to her. "any ideas where it might be?" he asked, looking behind the ice cream place.

she listened for a few moments before pinpointing the location of the cat. "i think it's over here." brook followed the mewl of the cat, before finding it curled up behind in a lifebuoy. "harp, come look at this!"

harper hurried over to brook, where he saw a small chocolate calico curled up. Ahistorical heart melted as he stood over it. "what should we do with it? take it home?" he asked.

"well we can't just leave the poor thing here, of course we're taking her." she bent down to pick upthe cat, then stoo up again normally and looked up at harper."harper, we've got to care for this cat as if it were our child.

harper paused for a moment as brook said as if it was their own child. huh. would they ever be together long nough to have children? he came back, and started petting the small cat. "okay. should we head back now?" he asked. he was kind of looking forward fo a little more swimming.

brook looked at the cat, then back up to harper. "well we could put her in the car until we're done at the beach?" she suggested, eager to go back into the water. she was oblivious to how they were actually meant to look after it, and she was sure they probably shouldn't just leave the cat in the car.

harper shook his head. "i don't think she could breathe. what if we just took her to the vet for a while, then pick her up once we're done?" he suggested, trying to soothe the small animal by running his hand over its back. he wasn't sure how cats worked exactly, but he knew if anything stayed in a hot car for too long, it was sure to run out of air.

brook nodded, stroking the cat as she held it. "alright. that sounds like a better idea." brook had no idea how to look after a cat, heck she could barely look after herself. hopefully harper was willing to help her look after the cat, because she'd probably kill it by feeding it the wrong type of food. "please tell me you know how to look after a cat?

"not too sure, but always have google." she told her, half-jokingly. he looked at the cat again. it was still meowing. strange. did it not like them? it eyes weren't open, and didn't look like it had claws. he had never owned a cat, so he wondered if it was anything like taking care of a dog. "should we go take it to the vet? they'll keep it safe." he assured her, and also himself.

brook nodded in agreement. "okay. if we can keep it we can always ask them for advice on how to take care of it." she explained. "if we can keep it, it should stay at your apartment. mine isn't exactly a safe area.
