he smiled relieved when she said she had just woken up. he took a sip of his coffee, and thought for a moment. "we could go to the beach later today? It'll be warmer then, and then maybe get an ice cream? he suggested. it sounded fun, and he hoped she agreed.

she smiled enthusiastically, her eyes lighting up. "i love the beach! i love swimming too. i reckon it's a great idea." she smiled, looking up at harper.

"perfect! after breakfast should we go?" he suggested, taking another sip of his coffee. he lit up knowing she wanted to go.

brooklyn nodded enthusiastically, clearly excited to be going to the beach. "that sounds great! i love the beach. the ocean is wonderful too, swimming is just so relaxing you know? do you go swimming at all?" she asked, taking another swip of the warm drink.

harper shrugged. "I used to go to swimming lessons quite a bit before we moved. now, not so much, but it's still fun." he told her, finishing off his coffee. "what would you like for breakfast?"

"oh! do you know how to make pancakes? if you don't, just toast will do." she sat down on a chair in the kitchen, watching harper admirably.

"sure, of course! blueberries or no blueberries?" he asked her, getting up from his seat.

"blueberries please." she answered politely. brook felt bad just sitting back and making harper do all the work, so she decided to offer him some help. "hey do you want any help making them?"

harper lit up when she asked. "sure, that would be great. but if you'd rather, I don't mind making them." he offered, grabbing the bowls.

brooklyn shook her head and immediately got up and went towards harper. "no no, i insist! i'd feel bad if i just stood by whilst you do everything." she looked up at him, half smiling.
