OMG I am a huge HP fan! I have memorized 3 of the movies and I'm trying to memorize all of them! I have all the books all the movies (including Fantastic Beasts and Cursed Child). I have all the textbooks (Hogwarts a History... etc), 3 full robe sets, 5 wands (Harry's Hermione's and 3 customs), sorting hat, sword of Gryffindor, Sirius Black family tree, Artifact vault, a daily prophet, 5 chocolate frog cards, every flavor beans, bobble heads, bookmarks, a harry potter spying book, a biography of Snape, the science of Harry Potter and I think thats it. (There is probably more I cant think of off the top of my head.) Oh and 4 keychains. So yea... If you have any questions about HP I can answer it. Just PM me!

also today i got The Tales of Beedle
and the Bard. it was either that or
Quidditch Through the Ages. it was
hard, but i had to choose one so beedle
it is. other than a story book, the morals
of stories were actually quite good. when I'm
older and settling down, in stead of tales by
authors like the Grimm brothers, ill read
them tales from Beedle and hopefully i can buy
them robes and wands instead of princess dresses
or pirate costumes.
i spend too much time on the internet....

Going to jump in here and say hi everyone! I just joined recently ^^ I am a huge HP fan, can't live without it.

I'll answer the Snape question I see floating around! What's your opinion on Snape?
So Snape is a very interesting character. I like his dynamics. I know people think he's abusive, and I guess he is to a point, in his bullying of students and whatnot, but I think that he just got bitter from losing the one person he loved. And he blames her death on himself, and I feel like watching the one person that had been your friend drift slowly away from you and choose the person that bullied you would do a lot to a person's mental wellbeing. Personally, I've always like Snape's character. He wanted to help Draco, he wanted to help Harry, and he had to deal with all the stress of pretending to be a spy for both sides of a very dangerous time. I respect him, and I think he deserved better than what he had gotten.

I also have a quick question for everyone, it might have been asked before, I don't know.

What is your opinion on Slytherin house?

I was sorted into Slytherin after being a Ravenclaw for most of my life (until the end of high school). I stopped agreeing with Ravenclaw's ideals and stopped really caring about academic pursuits and gaining more knowledge, and after reading about Slythering (both from fans and from official stuff) I really like the house.

Problem is, people still think of it as evil. And because I am a mostly easy-going, nice person people always think I should be a Hufflepuff, not a Slythering. But Hufflepuff is the house I have never been sorted into by any test, fan made or official. And I truly hate the stigma around Slytherin that everyone in the house is supposed to be evil or be a bully.

What is your opinion on Slytherin house?
seeing as it's my house, Slytherin house is my favorite house :p
i think there's such a stigma about my house because of all the evil members the house has had. some of the worst were, of course, tom riddle, umbridge, the lestranges. it's also important, though, to remember that some non evil characters were in slytherin: tonks, slughorn, merlin, and with cursed child, albus and scorpius.

another thing that many might not consider is that there were evil characters that were not in slytherin: peter pettigrew from gryffindor, and quirrel from ravenclaw.

besides all that though, the bad stigma might come from the house's personality traits. cunning, resourcefulness, determination, self-preservation, and ambition are all traits that can seem evil if the person themself is evil.

What is your opinion on Slytherin house?

My second favourite house, second only to
Hufflepuff(seeing as I am one)!

It definitely has a bad reputation, seeing the
traits and how most dark wizards come from
Slytherin. But, I think it's important to
remember that the house itself didn't make
them dark wizards, it just housed them based
on what they valued. Also, dark wizards come
from other houses as well - even Hufflepuff.
We need to remember that not all Slytherins
are bad, just as not all Hufflepuffs are weak,
not all Ravenclaws are wise, and not all
Gryffindors are loyal. It really all comes down
to house equality.

There are kind Slytherins, there are brave Hufflepuffs,
there are stupid Ravenclaws, and there are twisted
Gryffindors. The people choose the traits they value,
the houses don't. The house is not the summary of the
person.


tl;dr - The people determine who they become and
what they value - the house does not.
