fadedecho // tags ; beetlenose
a proud smirk laid upon his face as beetlenose, who was both his mate and his mentor, praised him for getting the answer correct. as soon as beetlenose sneezed, fadedecho took a startled leap back and gave out a small yelp. quickly, the smirk dropped from his face, only to replaced by a sheepish smile. what an embarrassment of a clan-mate he was. fadedecho blinked slowly, crouching down low to pick up a good scent of the herb she had laid in front of his very nose. it seemed to be an unfamiliar scent, yet there was a small hint of dock leaf mixed in there. fadedecho soon realized that it wasn't as he felt the texture of it. he might of been blind, but he hadn't been blind for long, so his other senses hadn't sharpened up yet like most others did when they went blind. no that there were many others that were blind. only a few, surprisingly, considering they were surviving in the harsh wild. but not many could really relate to fadedecho's disability. it only made him more determined. "okay... uh... is it chervil? i don't know." he sighed.

sandclaw settled down neatly beside hollytail, following her gaze over to the two troublesome apprentices. the edges of his lips curled up the slightest bit as he turned to look at hollytail. "always getting into trouble, it seems." he chuckled and motioned his tail over to thornpaw and maplepaw. although, sandclaw couldn't help but remember his days as an apprentice. they were quite similar to that of thornpaw's and maplepaw's. at the thought of that, he smiled. he remembered the days where hollytail seemed intimidating to him. she still did to this day, but at least he had taken the courage to talk to her. now she seemed a bit less intimidating but there were her moments of course.

he purred, pushing her slightly, only playing around. "oh come on, lilypaw. you know just as much as me that you should give yourself some more credit. don't be too hard on yourself." he insisted, purring. it was always amusing when lilypaw denied things, as if she wanted to remain modest. everyone in the clan had realized by now that lilypaw was one of the most modest cats of them all, and he wanted her to be proud of her ambitions and talents for once. "thank you, once more. seriously. words can't express... how thankful i am for you." he looked down at his paws again as he realized what he was saying. it had taken a lot of courage and bravery to admit those things to lilypaw, the things he had always thought but never spoken aloud, and now that he was completely honest and straightforward with her, it felt like a handful of stones were lifted from his shoulders.
