Piper froze as her phone rang. She opened it and answered. Tears filled her eyes. "But Dad I...Please don't..."

Masen took her phone "sorry sir, i picked her up this morning from her friends, she wasn't feeling to great and i took her down to the mall for a while, than this storm rolled in so i brought her to my place for a hot drink we're on your way now" he hung up "always got time for a second chance" he smiled kissing her tear fulled eyes on the eyelids "no-oone makes my pip cry"

Piper smiled and hugged him tight. "If I go home, Mase..he'll hurt me." She lifted her arm and the jersey she wore to reveal her side. Her ribs were black and blue and blotched with red. "You didn't notice..so I didn't say anything. But he did that to me.."

Masen shook his head "your staying here, where is your room in the house?" he kissed her cheek smiling

Piper smiled. "In my house? Across from my parents room. Here? Anywhere you wanna put me."

"i'll be back soon" he kissed her softly before taking off in his Ute to her place.

Piper sat down on the bed, still only in her underwear and the jersey he'd given her.

Masen returned a few hours later, his ute turned into the car port but no doors opened or closed he just sat in the car for an hour before bringing her stuff into the lounge room and going out the back and locking himself outside.

Piper bounced around the house, looking around.

Masen came into the house after a while taking Piper stuff to his room to a set of draws that were empty "unpack your stuff beautiful" he smiled before going to the bathroom
