it's the beginning of greenleaf in cloverclan. after the fox attack, the
clan is finally fully recovered, and the camp is back to normal. fernsta
r's recent death has left the clan spooked and quiet, and has also affe
cted puddlestar, the leader of their neighbouring clan stoneclan. blue
heart has recently received his nine lives and his name as leader, and i
s proving himself a worthy successor. but with an ominous prophecy sti
ll looming over them and stoneclan and a dangerous omen yet to dete
rmine, the clan's fate is uncertain. lacking puddlestar's help bluestar h
as a big job to do. until now the clan has been struck with great streng
th and good luck, but they seem to be struggling. can bluestar lead his
clan through the unfolding turmoil? or will he crack under pressure?

cloverclan's territory is a vast woodland, surrounded by trees. their camp is in a clearing and the ground is covered in clovers. north of the camp,
there is a broken cobble path said to once belong to twolegs, but was abandoned long ago. if you follow this path, you will be taken to the star
stones. this is where cats go to share tongues with starclan. you lie on your clan's rock and touch the large stone in the centre, and then lie down
to sleep. west of the camp, if you travel far enough, is the thunderpath. cats are forbidden to go here as it is very dangerous, and it is how three
leg lost his leg. beyond the thunderpath, on the opposite side, is twolegplace. cats are also forbidden to go here, but honestly, why w
ould you want to? east of the camp is the training area. this is where mentors will train their apprentices. the ground here is relatively soft, so ca
ts won't get hurt. cloverclan borders with stormclan and stoneclan and in between us and stoneclan is a river to divide us. {stormclan border is cu
rrently being decided}.

the old leader sat, her fern green eyes round pools of sadness as she watched her clan. she missed them dearly, but she could not go back and change what had happened. the fae had died protecting her clan, and that was the one thing she'd sworn to do when she became a warrior. fernstar felt a tail brush her flank, and turned her head to see the golden tabby pelt of morningdawn standing beside her. sorrow clouded the she-cat's pale blue eyes, and grief pricked from her fur. "it wasn't your fault, it was my choice," the leader mewed, reassuring the female. "bluestar will do great, he is a strong and noble cat. his humility and wisdom is what the clan needs in such a dark time."

sparrowflight blinked open his pale amber eyes, lifting his head to glance about the gloomy den. dawn was just beginning to break, casting long shadows across the camp. the warriors would be awake anytime now to start the day. berrytail, his mate, was sleeping beside him, her pretty ginger fur rising and falling with each rhythmic breath. with a smile, sparrowflight cautiously shifted and sat up, careful not to wake the sleeping she-cat. he gave his white bib a few quite licks before moving to the rest of his pelt.

the grey and white tom's forest green eyes flung open. his breaths came fast and unsteady, and panic washed over him like a wave. shortly after fernstar's death, threeleg had made bluestar aware of the prophecy he's received at the half-moon meeting. the past few nights, the medicine cat had received nightmares of a dark silhouette yowling strange things. the cat had said things such as: 'starclan has given up on the clans!' and 'our clans are doomed!'. threeleg had tried long and hard to figure out who this cat was. every cat knew that puddlestar from stoneclan had been forced to the elders' den after losing his mind, but surely he wouldn't be crazy enough to yowl such things?

➸ ＷＨＩＴＥＲＡＩＮ！

the fluffy white tom trotted through the field, the strong scent of tulips dulling the rest of his senses and their pollen tickling his nose, causing him to sneeze. he paused to sniff the air, and just above the overwhelming aroma of flowers, a faint, rare yet familiar scent reached his nostrils. following the scent down a small hill, he spotted the short brown and grey fur and large antlers of the deer he'd tracked. he'd only ever seen one deer in his entire life, and that was right on the boundary of willowclan's territory, where the ground fell away into a large meadow that was deemed as unexplored territory. for a heartbeat whiterain wondered whether that's where his clan had gone when they were separated. focusing back on the deer, he crept forward before leaping on it and giving it a blow to the head, killing it as easily as if it were a mouse. before he could start dragging it back to camp, he felt a hard jab in his back and before he could process what it was, he was awake.

the fae was awake before dawn, she got to her sleepy paws and crept over the sleeping bodies of her denmates and trotted to the freshkill pile. picking up a plump squirrel, she hopped up the rocks of highledge before whispering softly. "bluestar? are you awake?" the warrior placed the squirrel at her paws as she waited for her mate's response, if he was awake. juniperfrost turned to glance over her shoulder. the sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon, turning the sky a milky pink as it began it's climb. prey was beginning to flow back into the territory as the harsh leafbare and newleaf was over, and juniperfrost welcomed greenleaf with a warm smile.

❉ ＢＯＵＮＣＥＰＡＷ！

bouncepaw was the first of her siblings awake. although it was still very early in the morning, she wanted to do something. climbing to her paws, the brown tabby leaped onto firepaw while giving bramblepaw a hard prod with her forepaw. "get up you two! i want to play!" the apprentice whispered. she didn't want to wake her denmates, as they got rather grumpy with her the last time she did.

☼ ＭＯＲＮＩＮＧＤＡＷＮ！

[ starclan warrior ] [ she-cat ] [ starclan hunting grounds ] [ fernstar ]

the she-cat headed through the small clearing towards fernstar. the old leader hadn't been here long, and morningdawn predicted she hadn't gotten used to such easy hunting and so many familiar faces that she hadn't seen for moons. in starclan, mice practically fell into your paws and rabbits were as slow as a cranky old elder. the golden tabby brushed the old leader's flank with her tail, in a desperate attempt to comfort her. "i know, but it's hard getting used to the fact that it has happened, and that you have no more lives to spend." the fae sat beside the cat that had been a warrior when morningdawn was alive, and the cat that had seen morningdawn pass to starclan when she was deputy. "bluestar will be fine, especially with you worrying about him so much. threeleg will be okay too, i can promise you that he will continue to grieve until it's his turn to join us, but he won't let it get in the way of his duties, and that's a hard thing to do."

G O L D E N P A W
Goldenpaw was still sleeping, be he awoke when he felt the sun weakly Shining through the den entrance. He had grown used to what had happened seven moons ago, but by the looks of it his mentor still hadn't.

B R A M B L E P A W
She was curled up in her nest, though she turned to look at bouncepaw. "We aren't kits anymore, bouncepaw. Just let me sleep a little while longer..."

M O O N F L O W E R
Moonflower was curled up in the warriors den, in her nest. Her eyes were open, though she remained still.

D A R K P E L T
Darkpelt was sat at the back of the warriors den, in the shade where his nest was. He seemed to have not noticed anyone else - he seemed utterly emotionless.

S I L V E R P A W
Silverpaw was awake, and practicing her battle moves on a bush just outside of camp. She liked to battle train - it made her feel strong.

(Question - now that fernstar is in starclan would she have seen darkpelt grieve or know that he even loved her etc?)

Bluestars tail flicked in discomfort as he saw how Darkpelt returned with a tabby weak body that smelled of squirrel. He started running while his surroundings suddenly called his name. Before he could realise what was happening he opened his eyes to meet Juniperfrosts paws. He carefully lifted his head to look at Juniperfrost. "Yeah, I am" The tom replied groggily. He had dreamed of that day again. Why did his mind keep repeating that horrible day for him again and again. All he wanted to do was move on and lead his clan out of despair. He lowered his gaze and noticed the squirrel, that explained the scent in his dream "D-did you bring this for us?" He then asked The silver tabby with a smile.

Dustpelts flank moved slowly as he slept. He had by now adapted to his new body very well and didn't even think about him being diffrent much anymore. It happend that he sometimes dreamed back to being "normal" but it never weighed him down too much. He was happy for his two best friends who were now mates. He often wondered if he would be able to get one in the future.

Sunspots was laying outside of the warriors den. She always liked to be there when the sun rose. It reminded her of how beautiful the forest was. She had never thought about leaving the clan but she wouldn't say she didn't get annoyed at all the noise the apprentices made from time to time. Right now there were no kits in the nursery which she was glad about. Kits always mewed all day long so there was no peace to be found anywhere. She loved to listen to her clan members snoozing away while the sun was rising. It was a soothing feeling.

Otterpaw had woken up early as he had to use the dirt place. When he was returning back to camp he heard a familiar cat in the distance. He padded closer to the sound noticing a silver cat fighting a bush. "Who is winning?" Otterpaw asked chuckling at Silverpaw. The brown tom had known Silverpaw all his life as she was his adoptive sister. She was just a bit older than him but he tended to forget that. They had all recieved theit apprentice names the same day. "Lets train together, I think I would make a better opponent than that bush" He then suggested to the she-cat sticking out his tounge.

Florian was cleaning his fur from dew and dirt. His small den was not perfect for isolation from water but he had not bothered to go looking for something else. He remembered the dark cat who had spoken to him some moons ago. What had that been all about, could a cat not sleep where he wanted in the woods. The white tom grunted at the memory of the mysterious tom before he returned to grooming.
