Rabid lunged for the soldiers face growling and snapping. He bit down hard on the soldiers arm, trying to make him put the little girl down.

the soldier put Annemarie down,Annemarie shuddered,petrified,could not move,the soldier shook his arm

Rabid let go of the soldier's shoulder and dropped to the ground. He quickly lifted the little girl on his back and ran back to his owner.

Annemarie was crying

Nyte saw Rabid carrying a little girl on his back. When he trotted closer to her, she quickly grabbed the little girl, holding her on her hip. "It's ok honey, those soldiers won't hurt you." she said with a cooing tone in voice that made her sound like a mother.

Annemarie looked at her,she wrapped her arms around her

"Come on Rabid, let's go find Atlas." Nyte said holding Annemarie up with one arm, and stroking Rabid gently with the other hand. She started walking in the direction Rabid sniffed out.

Annemarie wondered who this 'Atlas' was

Rabid started barking loudly when he saw Atlas in the distance, down the road. Nyte walked up to him and looked at him. "Rescued a young one." she said and shifted Annemarie to her other hip.
