Patchshadow gulped down the shrew with hasty bites. Cleaning his mouth with a swipe of his paw, he answered, "Well, Softpetal woke me up to tell me Littlepaw and Halfpaw had gone missing. We tracked them down, and turns out they had followed a kittypet into a twolegden!" He flexed his claws, digging them into the dirt. "Told him who's boss. Anyways, on the way back, Littlepaw chucked himself into the river, and me and Halfpaw had to dive in to save him." He muttered, looking over to check on said apprentice. He flinched, seeing his bloody cough, and began watching him with wary eyes.
