We're going to start showing Lacey! The instructer said she has the perfect posture and size for a show dog, guess she got it from her parents. I'm starting to train her on a slip lead now, opposed to her harness. She's going to need a show dog cut too. Part time show dog, part time agility dog, haha!

    well then.

someone escaped from the backyard while i was at school.

    that someone is timmy.

he managed to rip the wire net on our fence [we have a iron bar fence since we have a trail behind our house], and crawl out. my dad says that on the security cameras, he saw timmy and raja running on opposite sides of the fence.

our neighbor saw timmy and posted on this app [i forgot the name], and my mom came home just in time. my neighbors are so caring, thank god for them <3

luckily, raja was a sweet big brother and wouldn't let timmy go anywhere, or anyone go near timmy. he kept barking. i have to admit i thought it was adorable, especially since we've only had timmy for three months.

So went to see pup for the first time today. My friend told me she's not a purebred but a frenchie cross Boston terrier, still doesn't put me off. I was told today by my friends mum (the one who bred the dogs) that because the pup is a mongrel it cuts out the health issues that frenchies have with their breathing? I've not had time to research this as I've being out all day but I was just wondering if this is actually true or not?
Currently working to complete my deer collection. I will overpay for bulk WL deer.

Can someone suggest some good slip leads for show dogs? I'm not too sure which one to get. I need a white one, but that's all I know. I'm not sure the length, width, material, etc. I found one I liked, but I'm not sure it'd be allowed? https://itslasso.com/collections/leashe ... 9625686924 <- lead I was thinking about.

Sometimes mixing breeds helps remove health problems (like the chance of hip dysplasia, breathing problems, etc.), but mixing two brachycephalic breeds (dogs with smushed noses) isn't likely to prevent breathing problems as the puppies will still be likely to have the squished faces (which is what causes a lot of the breathing problems).

You can find some more information about brachycephaly here (specifically about the Boston Terrier).

It depends on the mix of breeds and how they've expressed itself in the formation of the dog's nose/sinuses. I thought Boston Terriers were bracycephalic too with potential breathing problems as well so I can't imagine the chance for much improvement.

Claiming health benefits of mixed breeds is a common thing said by BYBs. The truth is mongrels can have health problems just like purebred dogs. It all depends on the health/genes of the parents. Plus the obviously influence of lifestyle, food, health care in the future etc.

Being both breeds in the mix are brachycephalic no it won't improve her breathing, she'll still be brachycephalic.
As for the health issues when mixing the dog is now able to get health issues from multiply breeds widening the possibilities but adds genetic diversity (Frenchies tend to be inbred though so it doesn't add much diversity still). You'll also need to take into consideration if the parents are health tested (what reputable and responsible breeders good) to know if they are structurally and genetically sound and clear for genetic diseases, if they aren't tested those are many more unknowns just thrown into the mixing pot and you can simply hope for the best.
