Name: Prince Edgar
Sex: Male
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homosexual

Personality:
// Angry // Quick-Temperd // Rebellious // Fierce // Serious // Sore Loser //
Edgar could best be described as an angry little boy who has trouble controlling his emotions. At any moment, he could explode into a full blown tantrum, no doubt ending in a few broken vases. Since he is so easily provoked, it is not uncommon to see him challenging other little kalons to duels. Despite his tendency to pick fights, he is not actually very strong, so when he looses, he sulks around the palace for days. He has a deep desire to rule as king one day, but his quick temper and rash decisions would surely bring his nation to ruin.

// Protective // Loving // Anxious // Lonely // Loyal //
On the other hand, if you find yourself lucky enough to win his little heart, you’ll realize that Edgar really means no harm. He protects those he loves with such fierceness and loyalty, no one could ever stop him. As for his temper, a large part of his anger lays in his uncertainties and anxieties; he lashes out due to the loneliness he experiences, since few seem to understand him. If he were able to control his emotions, then maybe he could become the gentle and sweet kid he really is.

Relationships:

Aquilo:
“With all respect father, put me down this instant! Do you even hear me!?” Ignoring the flailing prince’s complaints, Aquilo tossed his son in the air, only to catch him again.

“Father, please put me do-ow-haha!!!” The usually grumpy Edgar broke out into a fit of giggles as his father continued to toss him into the air and catch him again. When he finally did stop, Edgar snuggled into his neck, and almost instantly fell asleep, completely exhausted from their shenanigans. Aquilo smiled to himself as he listened to his soft breathing. It was an almost impossible feat to put a smile on Edgar’s face, but if you tried hard enough, the boy would laugh like any other child.

Walking over to Edgar's bed, Aquilo placed the small boy on the mattress and tucked him in. Before he left, he placed a kiss on his forehead.

"I love you Edgar."

Audun:
“How was your day honey?”

The boy’s knife scrapped shrilly against the plate as he cut his meat into a thin strip.

“Good.”

“Did your tutor teach you anything interesting?” Edgar shrugged, chewing his food slowly.

“Not really.” Silence hung thick in the dinning room, save for the quite noises of Edgar finishing his meal. The scrape of Edgar’s chair finally interrupted the silence, as he stood up to leave. “Thank you for the meal.”

“May it keep you strong, my boy.”

His father sighed heavily, as he watched his son exit the grand dining room, plate in hand. Edgar and Audun had never had a really close relationship, and he could feel him drifting further away each and every day. It would only be a matter of time before his son became a stranger to him. The king put his head in his hands.

Oh Edgar...

Elliott:
“Dammit…!”

Edgar cursed as he slid down the tree once again. He picked himself up off the mossy ground.

“Come down here and fight me like a man!”

Prince Elliott, perched lazily on a branch, rolled his eyes and swung his feet, refusing to acknowledge Edgar's presence by looking at him. “The royal highness is too busy to bother with trivial conflicts.” With a renewed fury, Edgar attempted to scale the oak tree again, swallowing down his paralyzing fear of heights.

The climb was treacherous, but he managed to reach a sturdy branch. When Edgar made a move to reach towards his brother, Elliott leapt off of his branch, and landed perfectly on the ground, and the proceeded to stick out his tongue and laugh at the poor shaking prince. Edgar’s cheeks burned with embarrassment, and tears gathered in his eyes. Elliott always managed to trick him.

What a jerk.

Evan:
With a flick of the wrist, Evan bumped Edgar’s final pawn off the chess table with one of his trusty steeds. “Checkmate.”
The dark haired boy rose sharply from his seat “I don't get it!” He had lost nine times in a row. No matter what he did, he could never seem to beat his smug little brother. Evan smirked proudly.

"Maybe if you actually read your text books, you could learn all the techniques to-“ Edgar grabbed hold of the chess board threw it violently to the floor, the pieces flying in every direction.

"Shut up! What advantage will chess prove in the real world anyway?! Nothing!!!” And with that, the fuming prince stormed out of the room, his cape flowing dramatically after him. Evan rolled his eyes sighed, then got down on his knees and began to pick up the pieces.

He was always cleaning up Edgar’s messes.

Eric:
“Cowards!”

The dark-haired boy growled at the retreating children, heaving from the effort of fighting them. As the last one disappeared, Edgar turned to the prince behind him. Oh Eric... Taking in a deep breath, Edgar began to yell angrily;

“As a possible heir to the throne, you can't just walk around the alleys! You'll be killed!"

"I wanted to help! Those kids have no money, so I brought them some food. How was I to know that they'd steal my shoes?! It's not fair that we live lavishly, while everyone else is poor!"

Edgar sighed and offered Eric his hand, pulling him into a hug. "You're so stupid..." he murmured into his shoulder, but he didn't mean it. Eric was the only brother really trusted; he was so kind an understanding, he couldn’t help but protect him. Edgar slid his shoes off, offering them to him.

"Let's go home.”

Future:

A dark and handsome figure swept down the middle of the street, each of his steps full of power and purpose. His raven hair blew faintly in the breeze, his crystal blue eyes battle hardened and intensely fixed upon a goal only he could see. Peasants all around steered clear of his path, for fear of being trampled. Soft murmurs and hushed whispers followed him as he made his way towards the castle in an eerie silence.
“Is it him? The dark prince?”
“It can’t be, he died in his travels, didn’t he? He couldn’t still be alive after all these years?”
“We can only pray that we’re wrong."

A breathless servant threw open the grand doors to the throne room, startling the Kings with his unannounced presence.
“Your Majesties, Prince Edgar has returned!”

No sooner had the servant finished his sentence, when the prince stalked confidently into the room.
“Edgar? Is that really you?” Audun questioned breathlessly, as both he and his husband rose quickly from their seats. The boy had been gone for seven years... He could hardly recognized the cold young man standing before him.
Ignoring Audun’s question, the dark haired man walked up to their throne where he knelt, and taking their hands, lay a respectful kiss atop both.

“My beloved royal fathers, it is I; Prince Edgar. My long and perilous journey has come to its end. I return a changed man... A strong man... A man-" Edgar paused a moment, contemplating his next sentence, "-destined to be king." His words hung in the air thickly. Aquilo and Audun looked at each other in dread. There would be no celebration of their son's return.

Edgar smirked darkly before continuing. "I return with the intention of taking my rightful seat upon the throne. I propose to you, a duel. If I win, I am to be crowned king. If I loose, I will leave this place, and live out the rest of my days as a commoner. What say you?"

...

Edgar left the next day, never to return to the palace again.
