warner brothers is the company who picked up the rights, so i would expect that sets will be done in-house there. apparently the animatronics are going to be done by jim henson's creature shop, so i'm pretty excited there! jim henson is one of my art heroes and was a true puppetry genius; i know that he has been dead for quite awhile but his workshop still operates in that spirit of being on the cutting edge of puppetry and animatronics.
i would imagine that it might actually be frustrating to do - as an artist, i can tell you that it's really hard to
do something kinda badly on purpose, and the point of horror of FNAF is the uncanny valley of
badly done/uncanny animatronics - and the creature shop is in the business of making animatronics that are completely believeable. i would imagine that some puppeteers and animatronic-makers are going to get frustrated to the point of laughing tears as they try to remember how to be bad at their craft!!
