It's not exactly about birds, but Silverwing (I think that's the first one) is about bats which are kind of similar.

I'm making a video about book covers I do and don't like.

EDIT: Here it is!

Hello y'all! My birthday is about a week before Christmas, and I just realized that I never showed y'all what I got! :) I got several things for Christmas and my birthday. I got Thy Kingdom Comics (a comedy book), Hallow Terrace (book 2 in the Juniper Crescent series), In Order to Live (a biography), three Leven Thumps books (Book of Proper Etiquette, Beyond Foo 1, Beyond Foo 2), and two Star Trek books (A Flag Full of Stars and Sins of Commission).

What did y'all get for the holidays? Anything book-related?

A few days ago I went to my local used bookstore and was looking through the box of Star Trek books they had, and the owner of the store came out and asked me to make an offer for the whole box. I mentally did the math in my head - even with the discounted prices, I wouldn't be able to afford them all (he charges about $2-$3 per book, and I guessed that there were over 50 books in the box, making a reasonable offer over $100!). I told him I couldn't possibly make an offer, and he just looked at me and said, "Pay me $25 and they're all yours."
"ALL of them?! This entire box for $25?"
"Yes. Get them out of here. We can't sell them - no one's buying them."
I gladly did as he requested. Today I cleaned them up (the used bookstore is rather dirty and dusty), and counted a whopping total of 60 books! I had quite a challenge fitting all of them into my bookcase, but managed fairly well. I also bought "The Book Thief," something I've wanted to read since I watched the movie a few years ago. I've attached pictures of the original box and the books after my cleaning of them. :) I have got plenty of reading materials to keep me happy for a few years, now!

For Christmas, I got the entire Harry Potter septalogy (the 2014 Bloomsbury editions), and There May Be a Castle, by the same author as The Last Wild.

I got The Girl on the Train and The Night Gardener for Christmas. Plus a gift card to Barnes and Noble, I have yet to decide what I want to get with that!

I love looking at bookmarks, but I usually do not use them so I never buy any.

Last week, I got an oval-shaped, metal bookmark from a Christmas cracker. It leaves dents on pages, but at least it doesn't fall out.

Am I the only one that hates to hate a book? I can't help it if it is something I do not like, but I hate not liking it! Books are so incredible that to not like one is almost like a disgrace. It's horrible.

Speaking of hating books, I used to find Seekers incredibly boring, but I've recently been re-reading it in the wrong order, and now I'm finding it relaxing. I never realised just how good the characters are.

I also got Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy today, and the SandWings dragon in the prologue (Burn?) sounds like Nightmare Moon in my head.
