willowbreeze jerked awake to weak moonlight surrounded the furry outline of her leader, boulderstar. she scrambled to sit up in her nest, heart racing. today was the day they travelled back into the forest to their home! they were going back home! she scraped her tongue over her chest fur a few times then checked to make sure her temporary herb stocks were by the side of her nest where she put them last night. "good morning, boulderstar," the medicine cat greeted after she had collected herself a moment.

leopardstrike stretched luxuriously on the large padded space he had made himself last night. cats all around him were just waking up and exchanging greetings or going outside the barn to hunt before they set off for their journey back home. his spotted pelt rippled with anticipation. his paws itched to be walking among the springy green grass and underneath the oaks' canopy once again. leopardstrike began grooming his pelt. he supposed he should run to find boulderstar and get orders from him to begin organizing the clan, but decided to let the leader make his rounds first.

Boulderstar smiled at the medicine cat's actions before speaking. "I'm going to go round up a few cats to help me prepare the fence for the oncoming escape. Do you need any cats to help you with herbs or run any tasks for you before we leave? I want to make sure everybody is ready to go once the time is right." He inquired, glancing over his shoulder as he watched more cats stir to their paws and walk out into the early morning breeze. He looked back to Willowbreeze, patient for a response.

flamefall lay half-asleep with her tail curled up in front of her nose. a single amber-colored eye flickered open as the she-cat stretched out her front paws. yawning loudly, she glanced over to the sleeping form of noel and the small, white-furred form of frostkit asleep next to her. a faint purr rumbled in the warrior's throat as she carefully slipped out from the nest, her back arching as she stretched in the sunlight.

petalkit mewed silently as she felt her mother get out of the nest, curling up tightly to keep warm. still half-asleep, she sniffed quietly as her brother curled up close to her. the small kit's eyes opened as another she-cat suddenly lay next to her and spottedkit. ears twitching, she glanced up at the warrior in curiosity.

lachlan yawned loudly as he woke up in the soft, mossy nest. he had slept on the opposite side of yew's den, and he was rather relieved to find that it was much warmer than his own den.

Tornado failed in finding Pebblepond, so she hurried back to her kits to see that Splashnose had moved in with them. she wasn't gone maybe more then about five minutes, but she was happy that shew as finally able to talk to her.

"Splashnose, hey, can i ask you a favor?" Tornado said as she prepared to resume her spot in her nest once Splashnose moved.

Splashnose smiled, slipping back out of the nest as the mother returned. "You shouldn't leave them before sunrise until about their third moon. Kits can easily get sick, the first three moons are the hardest but it does get easier." The calico smiled softly, feathery tail swishing over the small kit's head to distract them. "My name is Splashnose, but I used to be a kittypet queen. My current boys are from my third litter, 8 kits total was rough. How are you doing, how are the kits adjusting? You need to eat more than normal and keep them warm and dry as much as possible." She nodded to the little family, stretching out in the soft morning light. "I'm a permanent queen, so even after my sons leave the nursery I will stay to help other queens, feel free to ask for anything you need."

Noel woke up slowly, opening one icy blue eye and looking around before opening the second. The sound of Frostkit's breaths and yawns spooked her as she had never noticed the small bundle of fur that lay between her and Flamefall. ..Flamefall! She looked up, totally forgetting that the two had fallen asleep together. To be honest, the molly's calico pelt happened to sink into her surroundings, camouflaging her near completely apart from her eyes. But Flamefall had left the nest by now. Noel watched her trot out into the dawn's light, focusing her attention to Frostkit now. She internally weighed the outcomes of either letting Frostkit sleep in or wake up him up now so he could help her with any tasks that might come up for her to tackle.

Heather sat against the front wall of the barn, quietly grooming herself as she watched cats mingle outside before their planned escape. She was never one to be interested in the idea, but she'd only agree to join because they would let her out. Not that the clan cats knew that, of course. Heather stretched before going off to search for Yew and Lachlan, she had a few words to share with the duo.

flamefall glanced back to meet the blue gaze of noel, an almost amused look on her face. "oh, morning." she greeted noel. the sanctuary cat didn't seem to want to wake frostkit up, so flamefall opted to sit by the nest instead. quietly turning to groom her tortoiseshell pelt, the warrior let a purr rumble in her throat as the thoughts of escaping the sanctuary alone seemed to wake her up.

petalkit perked up as she scented her mother returning, but let out a tired laugh as the clan cat's feathery tail swept over her ears. she returned to resting her head on spottedkit's back, but her curiosity was piqued by "splashnose", as the clan cat called herself.

slightly put-off by yew's tone, lachlan still gave a somewhat cheerful nod. "i slept fine, thank you." he mewed politely. however, the tom's ears perked when he heard another cat approaching. catching sight of the long, honey-colored pelt, lachlan felt somewhat relieved. "heather! hi!" he called out, tail held high.

Adderpaw crept from his little hole in the hay when he heard the noises of other cats beginning to stir. He groomed himself quickly biting off chunks of dried blood and fluffing up his fur to hide his scratches from the big bird. His stomach wasn't growling at him to find food as it had been before so eating the bird had done some good for him at least. Finally finishing up Adderpaw's snakelike orange gaze searched for his mentor. Finally finding her he padded on light paws over to where she sat. "Good morning Flamefall." he meowed quietly dipping his head in respect. He figured if he had something he was supposed to help do to move things along she would know.

Tornado frowned and bit back a smart remark at the condescending way she spoke of how she cared for her kits, but she needed help with making sure that her kits were safe on the journey.

"i was wondering if you might be able to help me keep an eye on the two of them while we were traveling?" Tornado asked as she gave a sweet smile, "Pebblepond will be helping me, but i am worried that these two little balls of energy might be too much for the two of us."

she waited patiently for the older queen to answer.

Splashnose narrowed her eyes Tornado, noting the queens arrogance as she tried and failed to hide her distaste. The queen rose from her lazy sprawled out position to sitting, glaring at Tornado. Her normally calm eyes darkened with memory and anger as this lazy she cat looked at her in distaste and then asked for her help.
"I will not give my advice or aid to those who do not heed or want it. Have you ever awoken from slumber to find your children gone? Found their small bodies broken and bloodied, heard their screams for help, returned from a walk to their lifeless bodies stiff with cold? No? I didn't think so. I have had three litters of kits and currently only two of them are alive so maybe you should think and reconsider when I offer my wisdom. You have 5 moons, if they survive that long they become apprentices where they will train for battle. They will get hurt, they will know hunger, they will get sick. Whatever life you had, it's gone and your attitude will only get them both killed."
Her feathery coat had fluffed up, bristling in anger as she narrowed her eyes further, offended and angered by her actions. Her long tail lashed out behind her as she faced the small family and saw her own past mistakes and arrogance.
"So before you ask such large favors check your own personality. Especially those who wish to help you from killing your kits. You can seek me out when you feel keener to listen, I only hope it's not too late." She turned swiftly, tail still lashing as she marched over to her gangly child Fogkit and gripped his scruff to head over and gather her own small family together now eager to leave. The calico bounded up to the two she cat's sleeping with Fogkit silently fuming and roughly grooming her sons.

Frostkit blinked, pouting slightly as he felt some of the warmth leave. The little tom looked up from the long fur of Noel, pouting slightly at the loss of Flamefall in the nest. "Is it time to go?"
Fogkit tried and failed to squirm away, looking at his brother and the two queens with wide slightly frightened eyes. "Mum is in a mood again. I don't think she likes that new queen much."
