Okay, I really have other stuff to write and other stuff to do, but I really want to enter this! What a dilemma. Maybe even a trilemma (is that a thing? Who cares?) *Rips hair out* Aghhh...I'm just going to put a tiny snippet of story here to remind me to do this later and get back to work on the stories I'm writing.
1.I remember the time when this great stone was a palace. It hung in the sky like it was weightless as a bird, suspended by the fact that the air itself wanted to keep the beautiful palace afloat. It was, then, like a thing of a dream: a great hunk of iridescent bismuth, water running through all of its blocky levels. The stream would come out of the very bottom, a waterfall in the sky, and it would fall to the earth. The commoners in villages beneath the palace took the water that fell out of the clouds as a symbol of heaven, a sign of God.
The water did not come from any of the commoner’s deities; it came from a spring at the very top of the palace. We, however, let them have their fun.
Still, it was a magic spring coming from an iridescent rock that floated in the sky, so dreamlike and so beautiful that many of us—the people who worked in the palace as maids, butlers, and guards—believed that the palace came from a god, at least they did. All of us did, until the day of the invasion.
2.“Are you seeing this?” Zercioline hissed. Her voice was soft, dripping with fear, and her eyes, pale as moons, were glued to something just outside of the window. We were in the palace, back when we were still maids there and back when the great bismuth stone was still a palace, when it all happened.
“I beg your pardon?” I had one of those slow, proper, ladylike voices.
“Look out the flipping window, Marqiu!”
“Well—oy vey.”
I hardly knew what I was seeing. It looked like a blue glow at first, but my eyes started sorting the glow into people: hundreds upon hundreds of unnaturally tall, luminescent people, and then the strangest thing happened. My ears started hurting, like crazy; I slapped my hands over them and I found this sticky substance. Blood. My ears were bleeding, and they weren’t going to stop anytime soon.
I looked over at Zercioline, and she removed her hands from her ears, then she looked down at them and she went pale. “So…so much blood…” she proceeded to swear profusely, and I looked back out the window.
The glowing army—I had decided that it was an army, too organized to be a simple crowd—was closer now. They didn’t seem to have genders, least not those humans could figure out: all of them had flat chests and boyish figures, thin faces and legs almost as long as I was tall…they were aliens. Monsters. Anomalies, each with a long sword in hand as dainty and smooth as the carrier.
By that time I was hyperventilating. Bile was crawling up the back of my throat, and it burned my esophagus as it climbed. My hands were clammy as I held them to my sides; sweat started a slow trickle down my forehead. “This isn’t happening,” I whispered, but as I looked out the window, I saw that the blue army was still there, advancing quickly. My ears were still growing sticky with blood. Bile was still scrabbling up the fragile walls of my throat.
“This isn’t happening. This isn’t happening, this isn’t happening…” I said, again and again, but the scene outside of the window never changed. Once the army was close enough that we could see every last detail on the faces of the people in the first line, Zercioline grabbed my clammy, dark hand in her clammy, pale one.
We watched the army advance.

Okay, so this is just a quick little thing Idk how I feel about it honestly. I'm all over the place rn >.<
I'm also not the best at poetry and I normally just do freeverse but I tried to add some rhyme but ehhhh I don't knowwww..
The light
It’s blinding
The maze
It’s frightening
Who is to know?
What’s here,
what shall show?
up, down
swirls
turning, twisting
all around.
Reflections.
All that is seen.
Bright lights.
A place none has been
Embrace it
no more fear.
who cares
who is here?
Let the lights
blind you
so that
you may see.
Just be
