Ｇｉｎｇｅｒｓｔａｒ
As Gingerstar got closer to Braidclan's camp, it seemed as if her insecurities got stronger than her.
The threat of Berryclan coming to the camp again got the molly not only frightened, but furious too.
But, as always, Gingerstar somehow found away to shake off the thought. Then another thought came
to her. Gingerstar strongly knew Moonlight couldn't accompany her this journey because of too many cats
to be taken care of. But should she have made Moonlight come with her? It would have taken stress off of
Moonlight. Gingerstar growled in her throat. Heavens no! Nobody would be able to take care of that many
cats. Moonlight could, though. Once again, Gingerstar had back and fourth thoughts. But, she thought that
maybe she could talk to Moonlight back at camp, and see what she thought about the situation. After thinking about
the whole trip back, Gingerstar slowly padded into camp. It was nice being away from all the trees, and into the open.

ＦＯＲＥＩＧＮＰＡＷ
Foreignpaw slowly got awoken from his deep sleep, the best sleep he seemed to have in days, ever
since the invasion from Berryclan. Like everyone else, he still had the fear of them coming back, or cats still
hiding here. Foreignpaw sighed as there was a small silence in the apprentice den. Who knows where Swanpaw went,
and most of the other apprentices got killed. The tom looked at the camp with wide eyes as he had a thought.
A thought that seemed to be from Starclan, but he was sure it wasn't. They'll be back. They'll be back for you..

Moonlight suppressed another sigh when she picked a poppy pod from its upside-down position on her floor. The seeds rolled everywhere, unfailingly drifting into the darkest crevasses of her den. Stiffly, the molly stood and busied herself with the new mess. It wasn't long before most of the seeds were back in their pod and the pod back on its shelf.
Why did they attack? What provoked them? Thoughts ran through her mind unbidden and no amount of shaking could prevent them. She didn't understand it. Their clans had been fighting for leaf-bares before the she-cat had even been born, but she couldn't understand it. Why would they attack? Moonlight remembered asking Peppermintstar about it once or twice, but she had never gotten a straight answer. It didn't bother her at the time, but now she couldn't help but question the previous leader.
A sharp shake of her head banished the thought. Peppermintstar was gone now and questioning her would be like questioning Starclan: something she wouldn't dare do. The clan had been here for ages and wasn't about to disappear even with a surprise attack that happened for seemingly no reason.
The molly sighed [something she had been doing a lot lately] and got to her paws. Another glance into the clouds put her nerves on edge. Gingerstar should be back by now. She shook off the feeling and glanced over the clan. To her surprise, Sootflower was limping towards her. Without a word, she padded towards the other she-cat to offer her shoulder as assistance.
Halfway back to her den, Gingerstar walked slowly into camp with her head held high. The facade didn't fool Moonlight for a second. Their leader was nervous. The she-cat looked at her patient and sighed again. Both cats needed her, but one was injured. "Gingerstar, over here. We can talk in my den." She called over her shoulder. It wouldn't hurt for her to treat both at once.

Gingerstar turned her head, confused. She heard many voices calling her name once she returned
to camp, but one voice caught her attention. It was Moonlight. Did the medicine cat somehow read her
mind? The molly chuckled to herself as she walked over to Moonlight's den. Her head was bursting with
thoughts, mostly her insecurities, though. "Moonlight. Why do I seem so worried? I should be
excited I got my nine lives, excited that I'm leader." Gingerstar shook her head.
"I'm not, though. I'm worried." The leader struggled to say the last part.
As true as it is, Gingerstar hates admitting to other cats that she has this fear.

sootflower hesitated lightly before taking moonlight's shoulder, leaning against it gratefully. the young
warrior let out a sigh, limping along with the pair in a quiet manner, she'd be lying if she said
she wasn't eavesdropping on their conversation. she was rather to think that gingerstar would
be worried over her new rank, but she wasn't surprised by it. ' i suppose that is to be expected,
but gingerstar will make a good leader, she's brave, and if pepperminstar chose her... then I
have total confidence in her.' she thought, a pain-filled smile gracing her features.

She didn't want to say anything in fear of getting in trouble in front of the two of them, so
she just pretended to be wrapped in her own thoughts.

the fluffy tom watched as gingerstar entered camp, smiling in admiration. although peppermintstar
was gone, gingerstar was a great choice in his eyes. he wrapped his tail around his paws, giving his
chest fur a couple of quick licks to smooth it down once more.

swanpaw had finally decided to come out of the elder's den, creeping out in a cautious manner
and padding over to the apprentices den, eyeing gingerstar in a curious manner. what would
her first duty as leader be? who would she appoint as deputy? would she do a counter attack
against berryclan? all of these questions swarmed the fluffy she-cat's mind, overwhelming her
and sending her into a small state of panic. wide eyed, she scrambled into the apprentice den
ad settled down in her nest, curling herself in a tight ball.

swiftshade rested in the warriors den, not a comfortable slumber, but swiftshade was trying to
make it work. he sighed, tossing over in his nest uncomfortably. the death of peppermintstar
had impacted him minimally, he was upset that he wasn't able to save him, but at the same time
he was barely able to save himself. shadefeather had woken him up just in time though, and he
was grateful for that. finally, the inability to sleep had gotten to him, he rose up out of his nest
in a slow manor shaking out his sleek pelt and proceeding to pad outside.

ooc; i just realized that 'grateful' is spelled like how you would grate cheese. does that mean you're full of grate? and what does that even mean [to be full of grate]? ignore my ramblings, i'm just insane.

Once Sootflower was situated, Moonlight retrieved the poppy seeds she had just cleaned up and offered one to the wounded molly. From there, she grabbed some moss and dampened it to clean the wound [even if it appeared clean there was always the chance of infection]. Once she was satisfied with the result, she clawed the small amount of goldenrod from its place far back in a crevasse. They would need more and soon. [I should talk to Willowpaw about that.] Thankfully there was just enough for this treatment.
Moonlight vaguely remembered the stash she and her apprentice had found a couple moons earlier. Who would have known how fortunate they were? The medicine cat calmly chewed the herb while turning an ear to Gingerstar. Her suspicion of their new leader's anxiety was affirmed and, though she was mildly concerned for the elder, she was grateful her journey back went without event. It wouldn't do for their leader to lose a life the day she was 'starred'.
Spitting out the poultice and rubbing it in, the molly finally answered Gingerstar. "Come now, Gingerstar", she put extra emphasis on the suffix of the name, "I hope you aren't thinking leadership is easy." Grabbing an oak leaf and some cobweb [which were also getting limited], she locked the herbs in place. "If you were excited for your position, I might have a lower opinion of you than I do."
Her ears perked up, as if remembering something, and [once she was certain the poultice was secure] she turned to search through her herbs. The molly thanked Starclan she had the common sense to organize everything in time. "You are now in charge of an entire clan. Her voice was muffled from the rock surrounding her, but she soon popped up with a half-dried herb in her jaws. The cat placed it temporarily at her paws and sat back, tail gently waving in the air. "I'm not saying this to further your anxiety, but all of our lives are now in your paws," She flicked an ear and looked at the roof of her den before focusing her yellow gaze on Gingerstar. "and, unlike you, we don't have more than one. We now rely on you. Whether that be for advice, or as a friend, or to brighten up the mood when we begin to panic. We rely on you to guide us." Moonlight sighed and hoped she was getting somewhere with her anxious friend. What I'm saying is, it's ok to be worried. You now have more responsibility than any other cat."
The she-cat returned her gaze to the other's. "However, you can't let it rule over you. We're depending on you to be strong when we can't, especially now in the aftermath of Berryclan's attack." She leaned down and nudged the herb she had retrieved earlier towards Gingerstar. "This is thyme. It will help relax your nerves for now, but, eventually, you will have to learn how manage it on your own. My stash won't last forever."
Moonlight turned her attention back towards Sootflower and rechecked the bandage. "How does that feel? She asked, looking the other's eyes for any sign of fever.

Gingerstar sighed. You was a big word to her, considering she was now leader of a clan. She
nodded as Moonlight spoke. Your clan. We rely on you. Don't let worrying rule you. Gingerstar had a gush
of thoughts in her head. As much as she'd love to respond to Moonlight, it felt as if she couldn't. The responsiblitites
were larger than she'd ever imagine. "I suppose you're right. Everything is in my hands now. I
can't let anything go wrong." Is what the molly finally responded after quite some time. Gingerstar sat up straight,
chest puffed out. "You know what. I'll be the best leader I can be, Moonlight. Obstacles are
common, but that makes being a leader more fun. I must fight for my clan, and resemble what Braidclan once was
before. We aren't the clan of the insecure, and lazy, We shall be the clan that resembles braveness, and love.
No longer will I be the loner I once was, upsetting different clans. I will be a clan cat. A clan cat that has responsibilities
to get done." (ok idek what that speech was..) Gingerstar gave one of her promising smiles, and gulped down the
thyme. She felt confident, and was ready to hold a clan meeting to tell the cats the news of her being a new leader.
"Come on you two. It's time I hold a clan meeting, and urge myself to choose a new deputy."

The warrior came Into the camp with his jaws full of prey. 4 hares and a thrush. The chill of the day touched his skin almost caressing it and he shivered shaking out his fur. Swiftstream walked to the prey pile and dropped his kill on the pile, stepping back to take a look around. He didn't see anyone to talk to but then again he wasn't sure anyone would talk to him so he walked to the warriors den and sat grooming his fur.

Silverpaw/8/she/Apprentice/Crush: Open/mood: excited/Mentor: ??
The apprentice came running out of the apprentice den in search of her mentor. She saw her father sitting outside the warriors den and smiled. She stopped in the middle of camp and scanned for the cat. Not seeing the cat she debates running out into the forest to find them.

Scarletwhisker/40/She/Queen/Crush: Open/Mood: refreshed/Kits: Expecting 2
Scarletwhisker lay in the nursery. Her belly wasn't too big but she was mid pregnancy and with it being her second litter she wasn't too worried. She lifted her head standing carefully to walk and stretch her legs. She scanned the camp for someone to talk to but no one wants to walk to a queen. Or if they do they don't show it. She walked around camp to get her daily exercise.

Silentclaw/80/Tom/Elder/closed/Mood: tired and grumpy/Kits: Swiftstream and Scarletwhisker.
The old cat grunted as he walked into the elders den and carefully lay down. He was hurting but he wouldn't show it. He lay his head down and closed his eyes to rest them. He was wide awake but wanted to keep an ear out.

the petite she-cat stretched in her nest, stretching her jaw and glancing around the medicine cats den.her eyes fell on her mentor who was treating sootflowers wounds. she raised her brow and straightened herself up looking around the den carefully. she glanced at gingerstar and smiled politely at the new leader. the stress from the previous attack still rested on the clan, everyone seemed a bit on edge. now that gingerstar was officially appointed leader, she thought maybe it would ease the tension. she looked towards her mentor again, "uhm, do we need anymore herbs?" she asked approaching her mentor's side before giving a little nod to sootflower and gingerstar.
the she-cat pulled a small smile onto her face and looked through the herbs she could see. her eyes followed to the outside area of the den a wave of anxiety flooding over her. it seemed that every time she looked outside the den that happened. the guilt of the fact that she couldn't help during the attack still rested on her shoulders like bricks. when she had tried to treat her own mother's wounds she was pushed away. she never regretted her choice to become the medicine cat apprentice, just that it further severed the relationship with the last member of her family.

goldenclaw stepped out of the warriors den carefully, licking his wounds as he sat down and looked over the camp. many cats had been injured, many died, the attack was brutal. he curled his tail over his paws and stared at the scuffed up dirt ground. the tom knew that gingerstar was back by now, and he knew she would soon pick a deputy to get the clan up and running again. everything seemed to be darkened in some way, like a cloud had rolled over the camp and just stayed there. of course, this would happen after any attack, but the death of peppermintstar seemed to be a real shock to the clan. his eyes fell on the medicine cats den where he could see the silhouettes of other cats. he let out a soft sigh and frowned down at his paws. he truly hoped that the clan could quickly get out of this slump and back onto its feet.

experience to say anything at this moment in time, but the brave warrior was determined to assure her
leader that all she needed was time and work, least to say Sootflower was confident Gingerstar would
pull through. She sent a nod of acknowledgement to Willowpaw before limping out of the medicine den.

Gingerstar dipped her head and smiled. She flicked her tail at Willowpaw, and the other cats
in the den, telling them the clan meeting was about to start. The newly appointed leader hopped onto
the highrock, a short distance away from the medicine cat den and said "Uhm. All cats old
enough to catch their own prey, please come down to the highrock for a clan meeting." It was in a
loud enough voice that other cats could hear. So, Gingerstar started grooming herself while waiting. To her
aswell, the death of Peppermintstar seemed to be affecting the whole camp, like a dark blanket. It was time
to get Braidclan going again.
