Personally I think Neri could best answer this question, I believe it wouldn't since at least one parent has to be a hippo (no matter their ancestry) to pass on hippo, but I don't think 2 normal friesians with hippo ancestry could.

It even states in the Hippo rules that a normal Fresian may not have a hippocampi baby without an actual hippo campi to be bred with (no matter if the normal Fresian has the hippocampi gene) So 50% chance of having one NormalxHippocampus and 100% HippocampusxHippocampus to get a Hippocampi c:
