My ears flattened and my tail curled around me as I look behind me with a frightened expression. "M-Mother!" I turn to face her, head lowering in shame. "I'm sorry for leaving camp. I should have told a warrior that Whitekit left, instead of following her myself."

I raise my head to look Emeraldtail in the eyes, voice getting low. "You see mother, I am an apprentice. I was simply trying to protect a kit and bring them back to camp. I understand if you're disappointed, but do not raise your voice at me. I have done nothing to desere it." With a swish of my tail, I push past my mother and make my way back to camp.

Whitekit made a mad dash for the camp. Tripping she fell on her face, she started to scramble towards the exit of the tunnel to camp. All she was thinking was 'Oh Shoot! Oh Shoot!"

Ignoring my mother, not noticing where she had run I continue making my way back to camp. Once there, I spot Whitekit near the centre of camp. "Whitekit." Padding to a halt beside the younger cat, I lean down to whisper in her ear. "I won't tell anyone about what happened if you won't."
