The Sunback generally has good demand, so I'd say you should have no problem trading it up. The next tier above it are the UR Banana and Cucumber.

1. October 2010, can be fairly traded for another pet of the same rarity that was released within 3 months of it
2. November 2009 staff litter; while technically just regular rares, the staff dogs are quite popular, and the demand for the Shima outcome is through the roof
3. August 2009, technically three month rule, but Malk's canines are pretty popular, so some people might offer more
