Ok so there are a few options so don't feel so helpless, ok? Also, It may take time for them to accept it if they do. :) One, as someone else said, Show them the good side. Show them how they collected a bunch of money for charities. Two, type an essay or make a slideshow to show your parents and tell them that everything has a bad side. Three, Wait until you're 18. :)

may I uh..rant please?
[im sorry if im being steryotypical, this is information from my experience.
so, im not going to lie. i love drawing furries. i would love love love to make my own fursuit and go have fun with myself.
but i feel alone. on social media, furries call me..different?
most of the furries i talk to are homosexual, trans, or other. they tell me they are shy, keep to themselves, have short hair, etc.
i feel really left out- im not any of those things. im just a straight teen girl, long hair, bright green eyes. im happy with being a girl, even if i only hang around guys ahah..
i may sound so so stupid right now, i just dont know what to do. i want to fit into the community, but i keep on getting left out since i am not what others are. i dont want to loose friends from dressing up and being proud. i just..argh!
can anyone please share their experiences? please please please and thank you <3

Statistically speaking less than 25% of furries identify as fully or mostly heterosexual and over 70% are male(taken from the 2015 Furry Survey results). You may not be the majority, but you shouldn't let that stop you. No one 'fits in' in the furry community honestly, we're pretty mixed and matched besides a common interest and large LGBT+ population. I'm female as well and I had random people striking up conversations with me at cons, ranging from fursuit building to how we like our coffee. It may seem like you're not fitting in now, but you just gotta keep at it and you'll start making friends. Online FurAffinity is a great place for art, and FurryAmino seems to be popular with teens if you want to talk with furriers more in your age group. Offline local cons and meet-ups are great for making furry friends within your community, i've met some amazing people that way.

sooo... I am a teenage girl and I have joinedd the furry fandom. (( I made a form for this place a while ago )) I have made my character and all and I feel like a furry. The only problem, my parents. They hate me being a furry. They hate furries. I asked my mom could I get at least the head of my character. I have €600. I said I can pay for it but she said this:
'Furrries are for gamers and are weird people. I don't want you to be walking around wearing an animal head on your head because you are a normal person and furries are not normal.'

The really sad thing is that anthrocon every year is on from very late June to early July. My bday is the 2nd of July, which means every year the furries are in anthrocon while I am sad at homme...

Can someone help me find a solution for me to be able to convince my parents that I can get a fur ey head?

Waiting until you are 18 and/or when you move out is probably the best option imo. But on the bright side, that gives you more time to save up so you can get more than just a head ^^

it makes me anxious for some reason if i pay someone to make a fursuit for me, i feel as if i would be walking around in their suit instead of mine aha
then again, im super picky about everything, if i buy the materials needed for a fursuit i might give up if i mess something up whomp..

Honestly, Most of the time its super hard BUT if you follow the tutorials than it probably isn't as hard. My advice is not to cut off the foam pieces blindly. If you're gonna cut out cheeks, than use something with a round bottom and trace the bottom of it twice. :)
