(lol it's okay, i got confused about them too. sootstripe is leading the patrol with shadepool, orchidbreeze, minnowpaw, and daisypaw. tallcloud is leading the patrol with salmonpaw, cinderstar, and yellowpaw. i think that's everything...)

"Not even an army of badgers?" Rainpool challenged.

He puffed out his chest even more. "I would try my best to protect you, even against a big shark."

(Oh shoot, forgot that this takes place on a tropical island so they probably don't have badgers. Just pretend she mentioned some other creature. xD)

"I'm sure you would," Rainpool said with a smile. She had to admit, she envied Sparkpelt's energy sometimes. But at the same time, she preferred helping out around camp, especially in the nursery, to hunting and fighting and running around all day. Not that she was opposed to those things--well, okay, maybe to the running around all day part--but she did dream of settling down with a mate and kits one day and living a peaceful life--as peaceful a life one could live on the island anyway.

Sparkpelt swished his tail happily. "Mmhm." He noticed her thinking about something and took the few seconds to admire her sillhouette against the morning sun. "Wanna share some mice with me? I think Rabbitclaw brought some back."

"Hm?" Rainpool was snapped out of her thoughts by Sparkpelt's invitation. "Oh, sure. Mallowtail, would you like to join us?" she asked the curly-furred tom.

Sparkpelt hoped he would say no, wanting to be alone with her some more. "Dunno if there's enough for three.."

Cinderstar padded out with Yellowpaw at her side, flicking her ears as she sniffed for prey along the way. "We'll cover the borderline to the right this time, okay? I think it needs some re-marking." She hoped that Tallcloud wouldn't mind her taking over, even though she had put him in charge. She was also secretly planning on testing the apprentices.

Salmonpaw

Salmonpaw twitched into action, darting out after the rest of the patrol. Her whiskers twitched and she jumped as a bird flew from one tree to another overhead, sending out an alarm call as it spotted the cats. Salmonpaw hastened her pawsteps, keeping close to the other cats in the patrol. She fell into step with Yellowpaw, glancing sideways at the other apprentice.

Yellowpaw huffed a little when he was moved along by his mentor. He felt his fur get hot when he noticed Salmonpaw looking at him. "H-hey Salmonpaw.."
