High school for the arts

"What do you have in mind?" I ask him, before checking the time. Quinn's school was about to let out soon. Letting out a sigh, I say, "actually, I have to go pick up my sister from school. My mom was staying later at work today, so she asked if I could get her."

"Okay I can go with you if you want." He said to her. "I don't really have anything to do and anything is better than sitting on my couch alone for the whole night. Well until the party I have to go to anyway." He said.

"That'd be awesome... Umm... Can we take your car? I'd rather not want to walk there but I don't know how else my mom expected me to get there because I don't have a liscence or a permit," I tell him.

"Yes we can. It will be better that way. I guess she wanted you to walk but I can drive you when you need to pick her up just so you do not have to walk all that way." He said and walked out to his car and got in.

"Thank you so much, Eric," I say to him as we walk to his car. Getting in, I promise him, "it's not far from here. And you can just drop me off with her if you want. I don't want to take up too much of your time if you need to go anywhere."

Eric smiled and drove towards the school. "I am not just going to drop you off. I don't have anywhere other than an 8 year olds birthday party. You are welcome to come if you want. There is sure to be cake and I get to play prince charming. But my princess bailed. You are welcome to take her place." He said to her as he drove. He parked in front of the school and looked at her.

"Okay, if you're sure," when he says about not just dropping me off. "But the party sounds so fun," I joke with him, smiling. When he mentions me playing Cinderella, I say to him, "I'd love to... but you know I'm not good at performing in front of crowds, even small ones."

"Oh ya. A party with ten eight-year old girls is the best. Here is the thing. This is how we have to get you over your stage fright. It will be easy. They always ask basic questions like 'can I touch your sparkly dress? Your crown is so pretty.' Plus there is a little bonus if you do it. The person it is for is giving us fifty each. Two hours and done. Plus it is a small job that can pay for some stuff and it is really easy. If we can get you to do this, then the show will not be so bad." Eric said to her. "Please be my Cinderella?" He asked. "I have the costumes and everything." He said to her.

"I don't know why I let you talk my into these things," I mumble quietly. First the play, and now this. "Fine, I'll do it. But don't blame me if I start to panic or run off. I warned you. And of course, we have to drop Quinn off first," I tell him. With that, I get out of the car and tell him, "I'll be right back," before heading to my sister's classroom.

"Sounds good. We will stop at my place and get the costumes after we drop her off." Eric said to her smiling. He waited for her to come back.
