I am just curious, what's the point of a hoard?

Like you get a billion uncommon/rare pets, and they're all yours. But you already have one of them, why isn't that enough?

And when someone has your hoard pet as a dreamie, would you give one of them to them? Because I've had so many dreamies In hoards and they had like 20-30 of them and I could t snag one.

Now, this is not bashing!!! just curious c:

Personally, i hoard pets because I like their designs or just love the lineart as a whole. I have a nearly complete collection so without hoarding, i would have anything to do but pop on once a month to adopt and trade for missed outcomes.

Would i trade a hoard pet if it was someone's dreamie? Honestly it depends. I have in the past.. if i am falling out of love with the pet, if they have a fair or overpay offer, most importantly if they are nice (if someone messages me and acts entitled and rude because I have multiple of the pets so they feel I should give them one, it immediately annoys me)

But think about it; if a hoarder can get 50, 100, 500 of the dreamie, shouldnt someone who works hard and searches be able to achieve ONE? It isnt like we are gifted all of these pets - we work for them, some people spending hours upon hours searching and trading

Well, to be perfectly honest it's just how I enjoy playing this site. There are only around 6 pet designs that I truly love. (I like all of them, CS pets are amazing but as a perfectionist I prefer to only keep those I really adore). So, with my tiny first two groups with just five pets total I'd quickly get bored. So of my 6th favourite I'm trying to get as many as possible. It gives me something to look for in trades and honestly the rows of identical pets look really aestetically pleasing to me. I'd probably trade one off if someone really wanted it but honestly they are quite easy to find, common 2012 cats.
(In case you saw me looking for the UR Bengal... Well, it's not one of the 6, it's just a goal I thought of to give me something to list trade for. I'm not going to trade down a Red Toxic to quantity common hoard pets that would be insane )

My hoards are all personally significant to me in some way. I cut them down to just 2 groups of them a while back.
One is all things peafowl in honor of my great grandfather who raised them. I grew up seeing and hearing them in my own yard and when we went to see him we got to see all the weird colors and combo's he would breed. So I hoard peafowl in his memory.
The other is all the calves, simply because I have a minor obsession with cows IRL. I have so much cow related merchandise it's strange. XD
I used to hoard squids(my mum's one nickname for me is Squidlet) and red and white PPS and their GUPPS(as a way to bring attention to all the blood shed by Diabetics everyday of their lives). But all my hoards have some form of significance. Sofor me it's not just about the pets themselves but the memories and thoughts they invoke or hold.

The thing I find most amusing is it isn't even an Advent pet I just discovered xD

Heheh, they are wonderful little things aren't they ? PPS rats look adorable in a hoard because they're so small ^^.

Well my BBS hoard will be coming to an end soon, only two more of them to go. I find it hilarious that I've finally run out of quilts to put on them so there are going to be a few oddballs with Christmas/Valentine blankets. Going to have to think of festive names!


My blue pony hoard is also almost there at 21/25 (don't ask me why I picked 25 it's just a number than made sense once XD). Thankfully I've managed to only start one new hoard this year...there's always next year to start more!

After a few days of contemplating, I couldn't resist hoarding the advent galaxy lions

this is one of my first hoards with special meaning to me.

on another note, why are advent pets so hoard-worthy. it's so challenging to resist the temptation of hoarding almost all of them.

8 out of 10 so I'm almost done. The hard part is going to be getting items for these guys since I want to sort of match them to the characters' personalities and interestes.
