[ Cybil & Amos ]
"On the whole, human beings want to be good,
but not too good, and not quite all the time..."

Amos smirked as he watched the bird perch
on Violet's shoulder, brown eyes shining
knowingly as he turned his attention to
the girl, "Well he was probably scared
you wouldn't join the pack if you knew."
A tilted head, a curious hum and the omega
shrugged, "Of course he seems to worry
about several things. Such as treacherous
leacherous boys like me hitting on you."
The man chuckled and winked playfully,
letting her know that he was joking...
or was he? Aside from that, Amos figured
he had done an apt job of lightening the
mood, hopefully keeping the girl from
crying.
"Do you want to stay out here a while
more? I can't imagine you'd enjoy a formal
dinner with the pack." The offer was
extended for the girl, even though he also
would have preferred to stay outside. Pack
meetings with an aggressive alpha, were
never a fun thing for the beta. He had
learned that from years of experience.

Cybil ducked her head and shushed
her friend, glancing to the fighter to make
sure he hadn't over heard before she responded,
picking at her food while she talked. "Nothing
really happened. I just..didn't feel like coming
to dinner and he kind of hauled me back here...
over his shoulder."
The beta bit her lip,
purposely skimming around the actual topic
of the question, and the thought of how Van's
hands had lingered on her hips for a moment
longer than needed. Not that it wasn't...enjoyed
or anything. Ack what was she thinking? She
had to focus on being beta to the pack.
Thinking about relationships or anything
close to them would only lead to trouble.
The girl sighed and took a tentative bite
of her food, nodding in approval before
indulging in another. The Chef had done a
good job with the food. Quietly, the blond's
mind flashed back to the boy she had met in
the woods, the starving loner...Kyle? Cybil
thought about getting some leftovers from
the chef and bringing them out to him
tonight, surely he wouldn't reject a
warm meal...would he?
