story: Once, Clay set out to go explore a desert oasis. He stared at himself with a mirror, a big grin on his face. "You better go, Clay! Or else you will be late" his mother called to him from downstairs. He called back, "Yeah, I'm coming. Hold your horses." Clay was still young, but old enough and rich enough to buy his own house. Though he didn't because he goes on adventures every month, which usually takes a few weeks. Clay stood up and quickly ran downstairs, almost tripping over his paws once. He did trip the second time, a random book about pyramids was left on the stairs and he hit it with his paw. Clay went tumbling down the rest of the stairs. "Ouch..." he winced as he stood up. "Are you okay" his mom asked, with a worried tone. He shook his fur and answered, "Yeah, just tripped down the stairs." He didn't give his mom any time to answer and ran straight out of the house. "Oops, almost forgot" he said to himself and ran back into the house. Clay grabbed his backpack in his maw, and said a goodbye to his mom. His voice was muffled from the bag in his mouth. Clay ran back out of the house, he had called a taxi earlier and they had arrived a few minutes ago. "Take me to the exploration museum" he said as he sat in the backseat of the taxi. The taxi was payed for by the museum since its an hour drive to get there.
They arrived at the museum, and he stepped out of the taxi. "Thank you" he exclaimed, but the taxi had already drove off. Clay walked into the museum, the smile on his face bigger than ever. There was somebody there waiting for him. "Thank you for coming Clay, the private plane in on the launchpad" the lady spoke and led him to the elevator. Together they made their way up to the roof. Once on the floor beneath the roof, he opened the door across from his which were the stairs. Clay walked up a flight and opened the door as the top. He walked onto the roof and stared at the private plane. "Thank you for taking me up here" he said to the lady. They shook hands and she left. Clay hopped on the plane and choose a window seat. He dropped his bag on the chair next to him and stared out the window, wondering when they will get there.
Clay had fallen asleep, but woke up by a voice saying "We have arrived". Clay stared out his window and he saw sand, sand dunes, pretty much everything sand. A ladder dropped down from an airplane door and he put his backpack on his back. Clay made his way down the ladder, it took several minutes. The plane was going to let him explore for a half hour, then he would go back on the plane to home. Clay looked to his side and saw an oasis. It was quite small, but it was still amazing. A pool of water was surrounded by shrubs and a few camels were drinking the water. He ran towards the oasis, his eyes sparkling. He wanted to explore everything. Clay studied the plants, water, shrubs, everything. He took a sketch of the oasis with his sketchpad and took a few photos. He stubbed his paw on something and yelped at the sudden pain. "Ouch" he winced, but at further notice saw something in the ground. He used a paw and wiped off the sand below him. It revealed a trap door. Clay lifted the door, almost unable to lift it from the heavy weight of it. Leaving the door open, he lit a torch which he brought with him. In there laid skeletons, mummies, scattered gold coins, and a carcass of a cat. He scrunched his nose from the foul smell. Clay grabbed a few gold coins and put it in his bag. His eyes were wide with fear. He had a million questions but all he wanted was to get out. When he took a picture, he turned on the flash. The flash triggered something and water from the oasis started pouring in like a waterfall. Behind him, he heard the trap door close. Panicked he screamed for help, but nobody was there to hear him. Once the water had filled the room, the water slightly lifted the trap door open. He swam to the door and with all his might, lifted it up. Once it was fully up, he escaped.
Clay started hyperventilating, shivering and in deep shock. He closed the trap door and covered it back up with sand so nobody else would go through what he did. Clay ran back to the plane and quickly climbed up the ladder. Once he was on the plane, a person hauled the long ladder back up. He was dripping with water, and he quickly told the story to the person who lifted up the ladder. They sat with him on the ride back home and showed them pictures and the sketches. They had to leave to go assist with the pilots after he finished. Now Clay had a story to go home with that he could tell his mom, friends, and a news crew. His story spread through the world and is ranked #4 in the world for most interesting real-life event.
