❖ A gentle breeze blew through Trinity's tawny pelt as she stood atop a hill miles away from the reserve. Though still quite a distance away Trinity could feel Serenity closer, she was more than excited. So happy! She couldn't wait to be reunited with her twin. It's been long. Twelve long years but she would have never given up hope like their parents did. She could always feel some sort of connection to Serenity and over time she learned how to pay attention to the feelings she got in order to find her sister. She heaved a rather heavy sigh and sat down slowly on her haunches. What on earth was she doing? Would Serenity even remember her? Why was her sister at this…this reserve? Trinity was completely oblivious to everything that was occurring down at the reserve she saw in all its glory below her. The small she-wolf pinned her ears and tossed her head skyward, almost she howled…almost. She decided against it. She had no idea what lay at the base of that hill. No idea who lurked in this forest. She had no idea how long she sat on that hill, quite frankly, she had no idea what time it was when she arrived. She long ago lost a sense of time, she only knew sunrise and sunset mostly. Her human form? She hasn't seen that thing since she left her parents two years ago. Would she even remember how to walk on two feet?

'Stop rambling and take your furry rear down there!' Trinity scolded herself mentally before slowly pushing herself to her dainty paws. 'Here goes nothing. It's now or never.' She told herself and set down the hill at a painfully slow pace. Her heart was racing…just as fast as her thoughts and probably tripling the speed of her paws. It wasn't too long before she hit level ground. Just another part of her journey to Serenity over. She was frozen still…but only momentarily. The proud, confident, young wolf walked through the forest with her head held high and she even dared walk with her tail high as well. How was she to know this was to be pack grounds? At the moment it remained loner territory and it was free for all to roam, with no stupid pack laws.

The sounds of a bubbling brook met her ears and the slightly darker triangular ears swiveled to her port side.
'I could go for a drink. And maybe I can try to find something to eat soon after. I don't think I ate yesterday.' Her mind was fully occupied by water and food as she turned direction and that paired with her weak sense of smell did not prepare her for what was next. Plodding along at an easy gait Trinity ran smack dab into Kathrine as she rounded a bend with a yelp, falling back onto her rump. Immediately Trinity was shocked by the power she possessed. She had never met anyone with a higher power level than an eight and the difference between eight and ten was tremendous. But, this adolescent was bold, if not stupid. She huffed and shook her pelt free of debris as she stood back up. Trinity bared her teeth at the other wolf and flattened her ears against her skull. She was at a loss for words but nonetheless her instinct to defend herself was stronger than her instinct to submit. She had never had to do so, raised mostly in the human world and away from wolven customs. "Who are you?" She questioned, though her hackles were raised and her teeth bared her tail remained low and she didn't dare utter a growl.

➹ Toby? Late? Probably. Did he care? Not particularly. The oddly shaded and marked wolf pranced through the forest. He didn’t mind being late. He didn’t too much mind even being yelled at or snapped at. He was pretty good at getting himself out of bad situations. His pale eyes scanned the trees of what would be his new home curiously. 'Pretty. Lots of running space. And I'm sure lots of prankable places and wolves.' He noted mentally as he launched himself over a rock, thankful his parents had advised him to send his belongings ahead and travel as a wolf instead of as a human. Boy, did he love the way dirt felt under his paws and the wind in his fur. Sure, human form had some perks but being a wolf was far better. "Hum-da-dum. Ba dumdumdum." He hummed along his way, not caring enough to be quiet. This was his new territory, after all.

He wondered what his new pack mates would be like. Would they be nice? Did everyone already know one another? Hm, his mind was just so curious! He couldn't wait to see if there was a library or if anyone had any pets! Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy with each step Tobias got more and more excited! The tall male wagged his tail and he picked up speed, his new pack and life awaited. Were all the wolves from Canada too? Or was he doomed to be the only one with a funny accent. That thought slowed his roll a little bit. Tobias took a deep breath and carefully observed his surroundings.

A soft, pretty sound filled his ears.
"Hm?" He uttered aloud before heading towards the noise on silent paws. He caught a glimpse of a younger girl sitting against a tree, hopefully before she noticed him he slipped silently behind a bush in the shadows and watched her. He stood downwind of her, good. Her scent wafted towards him, that allowed him to evaluate her. Loner. That was the first thing he noticed. He pinned his ears. What was protocol for this? Was he supposed to report her to the alpha? Leave her? After glancing at her once more he decided to leave her be, she didn't seem to be any threat to the pack, plus, her power level was even less than his from what he could tell. Yeah, no threat. She probably just wanted to enjoy her alone time and who was he to disturb her. Tobias went to turn and leave but he wasn't careful and stepped on a twig, snapping it. He winced and froze, just knowing she'd have heard it.

Benjamin [6] Violet [8] Katariina [1]

Benjamin Manchester
__________________________

age; 19 | gender; male | role; alpha

Ben stiffened briefly when Mika wrapped her arms around his forearm and leaned into him, an instinctive reaction. Almost immediately he relaxes and turnes to blink at her, a bemused smile curving his mouth. What she was saying made sense but Ben wasn't the calm and level-headed type. Violet, she had always been more diplomatic when she was a kid but that went away when hee dreams were yanked out from under her like a rug.
"I fear I would garner less respect if I didn't protect my sister from questionable brutes like him." He responded with an amused smile. Sliding his gaze over her from head to toe and back again, his grin widened and became downright cheeky. "Or pretty Damsels in Distress from Big Bad Headmasters who can't take a hint." Before Violet had a chance to respond, Amos was there again, this time invading Mika's space and causing his blood to boil irrationally. His wolf was clearly on edge today. In the next second though, Amos's hand brushed his aem and the wolf all but disappeared. Knocking his hand away, Ben glares at Amos. "Fine, take Hayden with you but don't touch her. Mika is right. She bites. And if she doesn't, that demon bird of hers will. You might not see him but he never strays far from her side." A hint of bitterness entered his voice and from his expression it's obvious he has gone head to head with the animal in question.

Violet pricked her ears as the sound of paw prints approached her hiding spot and lifted her head, jaws parting to taste the air. She recognized Hayden but not the wolf behind him. She could tell he was an Omega though and was surprised Ben had sent him, not Mika. Ben was a lot of things but mostly he was ridiculously Overprotective of her. He hated when make wolves came within a rabbit-hop of her. Crawling out from hee bush, careful of the thorns, she rose and gave the crutches a dirty look.
"I can manage for a while yet without those dreadful things." She insisted, tail bushing out slightly as she scowled at them. Relaxing her expression, she shifted, careful not to trip when she did so, and turned a skeptical look on the Omega. "You really have to tell me how you got Benji to let you near me. He's not known for being reasonable when it comes to me. Makes dating a bit difficult." She said bluntly. If one thing could be said about the Manchester siblings, it's that they never beat around the bush.

Katie Grace Lancaster had been coming to this forest for nearly three months now. With fake documentation, she had managed to get a job and apartment in the town nearby, but she still wasn't accustomed to being around humans all the time. Here, she could think and relax and play her music with no interruptions. Or so she thought. Sitting in her favorite clearing, back against a tree, Creek babbling nearby, she stopped playing her guitar and cocked her head. It was too quiet here. No birds chirped and the animals who had just been rustling in the undergrowth all seemed to have retired to the den's. She wondered if a coyote or mountain lion lurked nearby, both of which she was confident she could scare off. A twig snapped nearby and Katie jumped up, guitar falling from her lap and striking the ground. Hee nostrils flared, picking up the faint scent of wolf. It was too faint for them to be upwind but she could definitely detect him. She growled low in hee throat, searching the undergrowth.
"There's no sense hiding; I know you're here." She said bravely, only the slightest quiver in her voice giving away her unease.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
[ Cybil & Amos ]
"On the whole, human beings want to be good,
but not too good, and not quite all the time..."

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Amos smirked at Violet and plopped down
in front of her, sitting criss crossed like a little
kid and holding out his hand to her. "Shake
my hand and I'll show you."
A bemused, but
not malevolent smile tugged at his cheeks,
brown eyes flashing with playful knowledge.
"As for your brother, he warned you might
bite me if I upset you. A hot headed brute I
don't mind. But I try not to incur the wrath
of a woman if I can help it."

Another toothy grin, and the Omega
motioned up at Hayden, "Besides,
I have Haydee here to keep me in
line. Not that I would try anything.
There's no savage beast like a woman
crossed."
These last words were
spoken with mock gravity, before Amos
smiled again, rocking back and forth
as he surveyed Violet curiously.

"You got out here pretty well without
the crutches, I can't imagine you use them
out of enjoyment though. Would you
please hold onto them? If only to reassure
my partner here."
Amos waved to
Hayden, who still had yet to sit down
next to Amos.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Cybil let a small smile grace
her lips as she nodded at Mika. "Why don't
we all have dinner? It will help ease everyone's
nerves."
Even her voice jingled like music.
The Beta was surely a welcoming presence
among so much tension.

As she turned to head into the kitchen though,
her face dropped once again, a pang stabbing
between her ribs at the memory of the two Alpha
bloods smiling at each other. As Beta, Cybil had
many advantages, but she could never challenge
her alpha, regardless of how she felt.

To busy herself from such dark thoughts, the Beta
opened the fridge, glancing through it's assortments
for something to go. Let the pack dine, Cybil
needed time in her room, to cool down from her
torrent of emotions and thoughts.

Eventually the beta settled on a can of grape
soda, and a small package of crackers she had found.
As she passed by Mika and Benji in the foyer, she
ducked her head, hurrying up the stairs so that
no one could see the pained expression on her face.
What was the big deal anyway? It was natural for
Alpha Bloods to be attracted to each other. The
result was always a strong child for the next
generation of the pack. Cybil shouldn't have
been surprised by such events really. It was the
way that things were. It was foolish to hope for
more than friendship with Mika.

    Hayden Rhee / Healer / age 19 / male
Currently: Outside, rose bushes, human form / tagged: Amos, Violet

Hayden shot a wide-eyed glance at Amos -- the alpha told him not to touch his sister, and the first thing he does is offer a handshake?! -- and silently reflected on the immense guts, or death wish, one must have to oppose an alpha as dominant as their new leader. Of course, from the way Violet talked about Benjamin being overprotective, he guessed she wasn't exactly going to go tattling to her big brother about how a boy had shaken her hand... Trying to keep his mind on his job, to make sure of Violet's health, this time Hayden's thought process really was derailed at the sound of the nickname that came from Amo's mouth. It seems I've been promoted from 'pup'... to 'Haydee'?

    'Haydee'?

Blushing the color of a ripe tomato, Hayden ducked his head and chuckled weakly at Amos's lighthearted crack about women and savage beasts as he tried to regain his composure. He stared fixedly at Violet, filling his head with thoughts of how okay she seemed and how she wasn't bleeding anywhere and all her bones seemed in the right position. "Your brother seemed to want you to have them..." he chimed in as Amos mentioned the crutches, only to be totally caught off guard for a third time as Amos oh-so-casually referred to him as 'partner'. Hayden only just stopped himself from loudly echoing the word, but he did mouth it to himself a bit obviously, then blushed even harder and ruffled his hair in embarrassment. Now he couldn't meet either of their eyes, and was all too aware of how obvious he was being. God, why did his first real meeting with Violet have to be in front of this attractive, maddening flirt? He wanted his apprentice to respect him, and this... was not the path to respect.

With a valiant effort at regaining calm, Hayden coughed several times into his elbow and rubbed at his cheek. "So you're feeling okay, then? Just wanted to make sure. If you don't mind me asking... what exactly went on back there, between you and the alpha?" he asked, wanting to change the topic as soon as possible now that everyone had seen him behaving like a flustered loon at a few rather forward comments. But he also was truly curious about what had happened, having arrived just too late to witness the full scene play out.

Van cursed silently when he heard the call of his new Alpha and then Mika also confirmed his suspicions and asked him out of the room.
Quickly like a weasel he threw the big backpack to the ground and began to crawl in It like a madman before he found what he needed: a clean T-shirt. He badly could step in front of his alpha sweaty and dirty, especially if the Lead Hunter was not there.
As he threw his jacket and t-shirt carelessly to the floor, he barely noticed the pretty room, but he discovered a door. It probably led to the bathroom, perfect. He would have to shower soon if he did not want to risk any more ruffled noses and raised eyebrows.
But right now he had no time to shower at all.
He flashed into the bathroom and stared into the clean mirror for a few seconds, his reflection blinking unkindly.
He opened the water faucet and scooped ice-cold water into the hollow palms of his hands to wash at least the coarse dirt and sweat from his face.
He should have let his mother drive him, or at least a piece of the long road. But he still understood his own decision.. Which Lead Fighter wanted to be brought by his mother? It would have destroyed its reputation at the beginning.
While he rubbed his face with one of the soft towels, he searched for the T-shirt with his free hand, which he had brought with him and pulled it on quickly.
The next moment, the door slammed behind him. As he strolled down the hall. He went in a different direction than he had come from. Apparently he had not used the main entrance before. He would have to inquire how many exits and inputs there were. Should it ever be a question of defending this building, he would have to know something like that to fullfill his duty.
He forced himself to put on a mask of peace and consistency when he joined the group. Since he was no longer wearing a jacket, he was no longer covering the deep scars of long claws on his arm that were dancing brightly on his skin, together with the bite mark, covering his neck, near the beater.
His gaze fixed Mika, first of all Mika, the Omega, before he discovered the guy.
He jerked his head in front of the young man.
His new alpha.
"Vandyke Oakes. Sorry for coming late, I hope I did not miss anything."
But by the smell alone he could say that some wolves were already gone. Darn, he had been taking too long.

The trees around this territory were starting to remind Kathrine of home and of her memories, the storming clouds of thoughts growing stronger with each passing moment. She whinnied angrily and shook her head. And then her senses kicked in as she heard the sound of rapidly approaching paw steps. Before she could fully recover, however, a forceful push from her back nearly sent her to the ground, but she caught herself before then. She felt teeth skin into her ears and was a hiss of anger, Kathrine reached back and gripped the fur of the attacking wolf in her jaws as she hauled them off of her and a few feet away from her. She shook her head, happy to find that her ears weren't torn as she stood tall to face her opponent. Upon looking at the wolf, though, distant memories were recalled to her and her growling ceased altogether. The three-legged werewolf before her was heard to forget; though she and Ferrell had only met once, she had not forgotten who it was and the impression she'd left on the red and cream she-wolf. For a wolf with such a disability to continue fighting as if the disability were not there as incredibly special and she raised herself out of her defensive stance as her face returned to its normal icy stage. As the heavily scarred wolf spoke in a hostile and angry tone, Kathrine stood firm and replied just as icily, "A pleasure to meet you again as well, Ferrell."

Just then, her ears caught wind of more rapid paw steps coming towards her, but this time, the red and cream she-wolf was ready and braced herself. As the body run into her, her body shifted, but did not move this time and she glanced over to see a tan and cream-colored wolf staring up at her with fright in their eyes. She couldn't help the narrowing of her eyes in confusion at this, but she said nothing. And when the young she-wolf asked who she was, Kathrine's gaze softened slightly and she replied calmly, "No one important." She took a step or two back away from the younger wolf so that she could relax a bit as the Harlow girl herself relaxed her muscles. She knew these two would cause her no trouble, mainly because she knew Ferrell somewhat and the young wolf's demeanor and dominance level showed that she was not one for taking chances. She spoke again, her tone returning to its normal state of ice, but her eyes remained softened, "There is no reason to be so alarmed for I will not harm you. Unlike most, I do not find joy in just attacking any wolf that I come across." She wasn't speaking about Ferrell, but about others that she'd met in the past; memories she tried not to remember.

Also in the room for those who are curious is Matrona

Mika flashed Cybil a smile as she suggested the whole pack eating together. The Chef probably thought of it, and cooked a feast. "That would help in a lot of ways." She watched Cybil leave a bit longer then she should before turning her attention to Benji. He had called her a pretty damsel, and looking back she was surprised that he was right. She never had been one before, but this cabin was bringing a lot of firsts her way. This time she kept her hands to herself as they moved from her hips to behind her back. "So what's bothering you?" She asked tilting her head at him. She would of liked for Cybil, and him to discuss it..but Cybil was in the kitchen now - or so she thought. She was waiting for him to speak when she felt eyes upon her. Mika turned her posture only to be jolted through with fear once more at the predator gaze of the Lead Fighter. She dropped her gaze hurriedly as he reached Benji speaking to him in a relaxed tone. What was wrong with her? This time it didn't effect her wolf though who in her mental image of the creature simply raised it's head tilting it curiously. She had a strange urge to shift so she could sniff the brute. She couldn't do that, but trying to be not noticed did lean in and take a quick whiff. She then straightened her posture, and smiled softly with a small clearing of her throat. "Sorry to interrupt, but we should tell the pack dinner is ready. " If on cue Chef stuck her head out of the kitchen to waggle a ladle at them. "Time to put some meat on your bones Mika. Bring your strapping young men, and pack. " She then disappeared back into the kitchen. Her men?! Mika turned a horrified look at the two guys then began stuttering out an apology before going red faced. Where was Cybil?!

Serenity giggle at Mika's- and the others', faces from the safety of the kitchen.
As Chef pulled her head back into the kitchen with the silliest look on her little
old face, it turned into full out laughter. The dirty blonde barely ever laughed,
but when she did Chef described it as one of the most beautiful sounds she had
ever heard. Of course Serenity didn't believe her, but it was a nice thing to say
all the same. Forcing down the last peals of bell-like laughter, Serenity began
scooping dishes off the counter and placing them at the table. Lamb, pork, beef,
fish, deer, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, breads and cheeses and so much more.

Serenity certainly hoped that the others enjoyed this, because Chef's arthritis made it harder for her, and Serenity just expected gratitude for doing it, or at least some form of thankfulness. As she turned to put mashed potatoes on the table, shhe noticed a girl standing at the fridge. Not having noticed her before Serenity nearly leapt out of her skin.
"HOLY!" Serenity dropped the dish. Despite tumbling into a 360 it managed to land onto the table untouched. Normally Serenity would have started shouting at the girl, but she seemed sad...almost heartbroken. Forcing down her bitter remarks, Serenity reached out with one tentative hand and placed it on the slender shoulders of the girl beside her.
"Um...Hi. I'm Serenity. Are you ok?" All the signs told the dirty blonde that this teen was in fact, not ok, but Serenity wanted to let the girl speak for herself. Serenity would have given anything for that opportunity when she was much younger.

❖ Trinity huffed softly and slowly stood to her full height. She gave a small nod to the red wolf and stepped back, mimicking the older wolf's actions. "Fair." She commented before the scent of another wolf hit her nose. 'I hate my weak sense of smell.' She snarled to herself, if she had a decent nose she wouldn't have run into Kathrine, she wouldn't be in this situation, she probably would have had better chances at everything in life. She leaned low to the forest floor and peeked around Kathrine's legs at Ferrell, scrunching her nose at the sight of the wolf! Yet another thing she has never come across. A three-legged wolf literally covered in scars. No one liked to admit that they're shallow, but if it's true, what could you do about it? It's true. Trinity is just as superficial and shallow as she is mixed. And that she is. She shook her head and pinned her ears before standing back up and padding around so she stood in view of them both, but also she knew she set herself up in a good place to run if needed.

"Quite…a duo I seem to have stumbled upon." She mumbled and flicked her tail nervously. The young she-wolf remained on edge but allowed herself to relax just a little. The wolf she ran into didn't attack her on sight, good. And so far the other wolf didn't show intentions of hurting her either..so far being the key terms. She shifted her gaze to Ferrell. 'Don't be stupid, Trin. Don't ask…..' She told herself several times but, again, stupid, bold, whichever it was. "What happened to your leg?" She asked the wolf and dared lowering her head to step closer and sniff at her. She knew it was rude to ask, but she was curious and sometimes she could be blunt. Trinity looked up at Ferrell and with a quick assessment of the wolf she blinked solemnly. In only a few seconds she retained all the information she could ever need to know about this wolf she may never see again in her life.

➹ Tobias groaned and turned slowly. He offered a soft, kind bark and wag of his tail. "Hello, Miss." He greeted gently, his Canadian accent light in his smooth voice. The blue-black wolf sat on his haunches, about a good (and safe) six feet from her. He wrapped his fluffy tail around his paws and dipped his head, politely and respectfully. "I had no intentions on interrupting your quiet oasis here. I was passing by, headed to my pack and after deeming you no threat, I was to continue on my way." Tobias spoke carefully, confidently, and…regally. As if he held a position of power, but that was far from intended. It was obvious this male was sweet and not so obvious he could care less about pack hierarchies. He cocked his head as he peered at her. "Why are you all alone? Surely you must be lonely, bored. I couldn’t bear being excluded from other," he rambled on for a bit before his eyes widened and he clamped his muzzle shut, "oh dear! How rude of me! Would you like to introduce yourself?" He yipped and wagged his tail, he quickly became comfortable with this fae, maybe on false pretenses, but then again he didn't worry too much. He eyed her and swayed back and forth slowly, he wanted to keep talking but he was raised with manners after all! He had not yet given the pretty girl a chance to speak up and if his mother were there he could literally hear her scolding him for being so outspokenly blunt and rude to a lady.

What was supposed to be a mental groan towards hearing his mother's caring, though nagging, voice slipped out of his muzzle and he rose a brow at himself in surprise. With a soft laugh he proceeded to apologize to the female.
"Sorry, sorry. I know I'm supposed to be shutting up right now but that groan wasn't directed to you, but to my mother that's mentally etched in my mind." He clarified and flickered an ear. Once. Twice. Three times. Until he finally chose to reach up and scratch his ear with his hind leg.

xxxxAt the friendly, kind words spoken towards her, Elizabeth immediately eased herself and broke into a bright smile of her own. She could not remember the last time she had done that, but made the tension leave her taut muscles, and made her eyes sparkled like little dark jewels. As her careful gaze roved around the airy living room in shy wonder, she caught sight of another blonde haired girl with striking blue eyes lingering around nearby. Elizabeth skimmed across her, finding herself wondering what ranking this other newcomer was. Another Huntress, perhaps? Nevertheless, she extended a hand in friendship towards her as well. "I'm sorry, where are my manners? It's a pleasure to meet you too," she chirped.

"Hello! Welcome to the pack! We're glad both of you could join us." Cybil's cheerful voice brought Elizabeth's attention back to the blonde. She was most likely the Beta. Looking at how she did not carry herself differently like she was more superior than everyone else, Elizabeth instantly felt a rush of liking and warmth seep through her entire being. This was truly a first. The only humble elites she had ever known before were her parents. Cybil spoke with kindness and sincerity, which only made Elizabeth like her even more. Once Mika chimed in about their bags, her hands instinctively jumped to hers. It did not feel right letting someone else do the job for her, even if that person was an Omega. Elizabeth had never been an aloof snob and moreover, Mika was simply too nice to her. "Oh no," she argued with a smile. "I can perfectly well carry my bags. You see — two hands." Laughing softly, her voice like the tinkling of silver wind chimes, she swung one of her bags over her shoulder to make carrying it more comfortable. The other, she reluctantly handed it over to Mika. After all, it was way too heavy for her to bring it up the stairs. Her energy had been drained from her body ever since she arrived at Evergreen Reservation after the brisk walk through the woods, and although Elizabeth would never admit it aloud, she was rather lethargic. She brushed her hair away from her face and followed the two girls warily up the stairs.

The second storey was every bit as pretty and tidy as the first. Long rows of rooms stretched out as far as an eye could see to her left, and to her right. Elizabeth picked up the distant sound of the door opening and closing once again, and noticed the conflict raging within Mika's eyes, before she sent the girls on their way and hurried back down to see to this new person. Curiosity piqued, Elizabeth walked down the corridor while trying to suppress her immense excitement at exploring her new room for the first time. Did she have to share it with someone? She fervently hoped not. Elizabeth had always been big on privacy and discovering that she had a roommate would prove to be a huge blow to her. Her eagle eyes scanned the doors till she spotted her own name, seemingly beckoning towards her from beside Roisin's room. "It looks like we are side by side," she offered with a small smile shot in the slightly older girl's direction. Grasping the silver doorknob, Elizabeth gave it a sharp wrung and pushed it open. Her breath momentarily hitched in her throat.

Her room was beautiful. It was fairly large, with a four-poster bed and dressed in classic wooden finery. Letting the door swing shut gently behind her, she released her bag onto the floor with a dull thud and strode deeper into the room as if in a trance. She perched on the very edge of her bed like a little bird about to take flight, her fingers tracing irregular patterns on the silky bedsheets and savouring the mattress's softness. With a contented sigh emanating from her lips, Elizabeth fell back onto her olive duvets, her eyes locking onto the ceiling. The mattress carried her weight smoothly, curving with the graceful arch of her back and swan-like neck. Elizabeth silently relished the coolness of it against her bare skin. Out of the blue, a voice called from outside the door. "Hey, your stuff is in the hall." Oh... I forgot my other bag.

She leapt to her feet and hastened to open the door. Her mouth opened to utter a thank you, but Mika had already vanished. There was a flash of ebony hair as Elizabeth took hold of her other bag and shut the door. Humming a jolly tune as she went about unpacking her bags with a wide smile perking the corners of her mouth, Elizabeth felt good-natured and satisfied for the first time in a long while.

She could get used to this.
