Clarissa couldn't properly hear what Luce was thinking, she could only catch snippets because she was a human. I'm not a demon anymore, I'm all human! Clarissa thought, she hadn't caught the part about leaving and massacre.

Zabe tried to shove his way through the crowd when his eyes fell upon the demon, she was a girl, about his own age though a bit shorter, she had a very serious expression on her face. Zabe's eyes widened, he could never talk to girls, he always went nervous and self-consious. Zabe tried to get back into the crowd so that he didn't have to talk to Luce but it was no use, he stayed right in front of her. He looked at her through his blood red eyes.

"Oh god, this never going to work, we're both feeling really awkward, you're trying to sound formal, this shouldn't be happening, you're the best friend I've had for pets's sake!" Charlie suddenly blurted out, she then put her head in her hands trying not to look at Loki.

"No, Loki, that's not what I meant, I, I. I just feel that it's a great shame that we can't really work well anymore just because of one stuck-up, full of himself arrogant human!" Charlie said. "I'm sorry Loki, I can't find the book without you and now because of my stupid ex-boyfriend neither of us are going to get home for ages" Charlie said in despair, she wished she hadn't seen Louie now, if she hadn't this would never have happened.

"Hi" Zabe replied, he was monysylabbic as he didn't know what to say to her.

Clarissa didn't pick up anything this time so she didn't reply in thoughts.

"I'll help" Zabe said with a mischievous grin, "But are you sure she's a demon, she looks pretty human to me, she's even got the eyes" Zabe said, he was now relaxed in talking to Luce.

Charlie was still hiding her face in her hands and said, "well, we'd better go to the library" She was trying to change the subject but knew that Loki wouldn't come of that easily.

Skylar yawned and walked down the street, she clutched her arms and shivered, she had been sleeping in bushes and abandoned places for months, she wondered where she was going to stay tonight, she clutched her wings and winced as a feather fell out, she held it protectively in her hand admirering it

"Let's stay and see what they do" Zabe said reflecting Luce's smile. Then to make the situation look ordimnary and find out her name Zabe held his hand out to Luce, "Zabe, you?"

Charlie sighed, "Yeah, I know it's awkward, and even more awkward because I know what you're feeling" Charlie said with a small smile at the end, she was beginning to feel a bit more comfortable with talking to Loki.

Clarissa stopped and moved out of Luce's vision, she had a demon with her, this made things even and interesting.

"Trying to find the book as all demons are but I'm right here right now to have a bit of fun with some humans" Zabe explained.

The corner of Charlie's mouth lifted into a smile, "Sure" She said, she felt better when Loki was in human form. Charlie could sense that Loki wasn't feeling awkward anymore so got out of the car.

Damian had slowed when he'd seen how close Clarissa was to Luce. He jogged round the corner and paused, his eyes narrowing as he took in the crowd, singling out Luce. And another Demon. Oh, great. This was going to be interesting. He could also make out Clarissa. Now that she was Human, she was slightly more vulnerable, but Damian kept his distance.

Zabe caught a glance of Damian but thought it was just a random human, Damian looked like the perfect kind of human to annoy, Zabe thought.
