Short Narrative (431 words example) =
After hours of walking, the sun is starting to go down in the sky. It’s nearing nightfall and we need shelter. I keep my eyes out for any place to rest for the night; I’m thinking about a cave. Just as the thought crosses my mind, I see it in the distance. Martha and I make our way towards it; the cave mouth is way bigger than we thought. We may need to block the entrance so those creatures don’t come in. We’ve decided to call them Screechers. I wander off to find some logs to block the cave while Martha starts a fire inside. There are lots of branches and trees but no logs. Only then do I realize that there are lots of tree stumps where the trees have been chopped down. I can see a red axe lodged in a tree trunk. I pull it out using all my might. The effort flung me backwards. I landed with a thud, the small axe in my hands. I stand up wearily, the axe weighing me down and I start to attack the tree with it. Every time I slam the blade into the tree, it sends jolts up my arms that make me shake in pain. But I keep going until I knock over this stubborn tree. When it finally comes crashing down I hide the axe away and drag the heavy log too slowly towards the cave. I prop it up against the entrance, but it only covers a fifth of the cave mouth. Not nearly enough to block it off. I stagger back to look for more trees to chop. On my journey for wood, I see a river very close to our cave shelter. I just hope the gushing river doesn’t overflow and drench the cave. I painfully cut down more trees. When i’ve cut another four trees, one by one I drag them back to the cave mouth and prop them up as a barricade. I cut one of the logs in half and add the halves to the pile so there is a small hole in the bottom of the wall. Then, venturing outside once more, I find myself a boulder and roll it into position so it blocks the hole as a door. Martha has the fire going, that should keep us warm for an hour or two. I suddenly realize we didn’t find any food in the wreckage of the crashed plane. My stomach grumbles angrily as I lie down on the cold cave floor and doze off into a dreamless sleep.

Dream big, sparkle more and let your light shine.
This is just what Glaze does, though he always takes his time.
Don't ever let anyone dim your glow.
He takes pride in himself, and makes sure it's up for show.
Glaze is from the unique Kalon species.
His passion is to look after other small beasties.
A golden Kalon, dreaming of that one day.
He could be working for an animal shelter, not having it any other way.
Glaze has his very own powerful music mix tape.
He listens to it while he works as it fits his personality shape.
Currently working as the janitor of the local museum.
He always tries to clean the large Egyptian coliseum.
When Glaze isn't listening to music, cleaning or dreaming.
He's sitting down to watch his favourite movies streaming.
Lord of the Rings has always been his favourite movie style.
Whether he has seen it recently or not seen for a while.
Watching his all time favourite movies, Glaze will always have food at hand.
Whether it's for stress, hunger or depression it's close enough Glaze doesn't need to stand.
But despite not being a fussy eater, there is one thing he will never have.
Glaze rejects all soda drinks, no matter how much he may crave.
Another of his many dislikes, Glaze absolutely hates all kinds of scams.
Lies, cheats, scams and hacks, they can never draw him in their thieving programmes.
Among his numerous amount of his favourite things.
Glaze's favourite colors and gold, red, brown and the colors of rings.
But most of all in Glaze's life, he has his extreme soft side.
Even though sometimes this journey can be a wild ride.
So while he sits at home and stares at the fireplace ember.
Glaze, the golden ring kalon will always be a loyal family member
Random story (298 words)
Lord Prar sighed as he tilted the crown resting between his tufts of ears. The royal ember door glistened in the light as Prar basked in the warmth the window produced. His gaze drifted off to the clouds as he sunk into his deep thoughts. Just the usual memories of his family. Once more, Prar sighed. Christmas was coming up soon and Prar had nobody to share it with. Being a Lord, you had the rights to everything in the kingdom. The wealth, fabrics, fancy diners, but being a Lord also had consequences as Prar soon found out. Due to all the busy paperwork that came with the responsibilities, there was never any time for family. Prar's butler looking at the forlorn lord gazing at the sky with concern, eyes struggling valiantly to escape the Lord's sad and depressed eyes. The small town bustled with the holiday cheer, cars raced by as the citizens milled around carrying gifts for their families. Even a female Kalon could be seen running down the street with her shopping calling for her son to come back, for he had run off in the confusion of the crowd. At this moment, the giant ember door crashed open. Lord Prar snapped to attention and frowned at the intrusion, but his heart melted as two children came racing in. Prar's two daughters ran in with his wife in tow. Lord Prar began to cry as he gathered his wife and kids into his arms, the crown falling from his head. 'Now I won't be lonely for Christmas'. Prar, a once depressed and lonely Lord who wished for his family, was now a smiling and bright Kalon who had been given the best gift he could ever ask for.
