Quinnie's occupation;;
Quinnie works as a secret Santa every year in December. She goes out and asks people on the street what they'd like for Christmas. She hands them a flyer for the 'Secret Santa' center she works at, and if they come, she will give them what they asked for.
Quinnie is not the richest kal, of course, and she receives donations to her SS center - most people answer her gift question with things like video games or relatively inexpensive toys, so she almost always has what they want.
her toads' story;;
Quinnie adopted her toads when she was a herpetologist. They were injured, and she cured them.. in the process, however, she got much too attached and needed to take them home. Now they reside with her, and they are happy with her, and love her like she loves them. Most of the time. She doesn't feed them as much as they want - they are some chubby toads.
Lior met their toads while out in the woods, a place they visit often. Napoleon was the first they met. He prides himself in that, although he's a bit embarrassed about the story how. Lior was walking along the creek bank, looking for skipping rocks(which they loves to do and are quite good at), when she noticed the toad flopping around on the bank, stuck on his back. He was trying to get back into the water, but he'd had two legs injured by a bird who tried to eat him, then dropped him. Lior asked if they could help and placed the toad back in the water. Although he could move around now, Napoleon was still in bad shape. He wasn't likely to catch food in his state and might starve, so when Lior offered to take care of him for a while, Napoleon accepted unhesitantly.
Napoleon was still healing when Lior met Susan. Susan was a sweet little thing who'd been raised in captivity since she hatched, along with her siblings. However, when they'd all grown up, they'd been dumped back into the wild with no training on how to catch food. Susan survived a lot longer than many of her siblings, scavenging for bits of food, but she getting pretty thin, which isn't good for a toad, and soon would be too weak to get any food. Thankfully, that's when Lior came along. This time they'd been looking for a good climbing tree, when they saw Susan sitting unmovingly on a rock. At first Lior thought she was dead, but soon had the situation explained to them. Lior was all too happy to take in a second toad, and even looked for more of Susan's siblings who might need help. They never did find any though. Napoleon was a bit selfish and, at first, wasn't too pleased about another toad around, but Susan, being the sweet, adorable toad that she is, quickly grew on him.
Both toads were soon in good shape, but stuck around with Lior because all three had became such good friends. They caught their own food now, but sometimes, Lior still liked to spoil them. Susan, now quite capable of taking care of herself left the house often, and soon attracted a suitor. This toad was Doss. He followed Susan around a lot, and tried to make conversation whenever he could. She was polite, but wasn't to fond of being pursued. She tried to explain this to Doss, but he insisted that he was hopelessly in love and stayed relentless in his attempts. Susan told her friends and, amongst the three, Doss became known as "The Frog Prince." They didn't all meet, however, until one day, Lior and Napoleon accompanied their friends to the woods to go swimming. Once they arrived at the creek and began swimming, it didn't take long for "the Frog Prince" to find his Susan. He began chatting with her immediately, but when Lior and Napolean emerged from the water and approached, something shifted. Doss forgot about Susan completely, and to everyone's surprise, could only stare at Lior. "Why, you are the most beautiful creature I've ever seen! " were his exact words. Susan was a bit offended, but mostly relieved to have his attention off of her. Doss insisted that he come stay with them. Lior didn't really care and obliged. Susan and Napoleon were a bit more hesitant, but accepted Lior's decision. After all, Lior had taken them in. Since then, Doss' attempts to woo Lior have been deterred somewhat by Lior's indifference, but due to his unrealistic hopefulness, he still flirts occasionally. They all get along very well, for the most part, and, who knows, maybe they'll gain a new member of the family someday!
