Daze bounded over towards where Phoenix and the other wolves of the pack were. He looked around for a second and circled around the group in order to make sure they hadn't lost anyone. After scanning his surroundings, he turned his attention to Phoenix. "The tunnels seem like our best bet," Daze commented to the alpha, "I mean that they should be warmer and easier to guard then out here in the open."

"Do we have to go underground?" whined Maggot.
Churl frowned, but remained silent. He didn't have a specific opinion on this, and would follow the pack either way. His mother Solara wasn't speaking on purpose. As the Elder, she seemed to be trying to allow the younger wolves to come to their own consensus.
"I agree with Daze." Felon said, making eye contact with Daze before looking at Phoenix. She didn't acknowledge her little brother. "If the birds come back, they will not come underground. If they do, it will force them into a narrow area. We can concentrate our attacks better."
Phoenix scratched his head with a hind paw. "Hmm... okay. I'm going to lead the way, though, because if I fall or anything... well, I'll just come back."
Apprehensively, he took the first steps into the tunnels, cringing every time dirt fell on his pelt.

Daze nodded and let his gaze linger on Felon for a moment. He watched as Phoenix made his way into the tunnel. Daze decided that he would wait until everyone else was safe and inside the tunnels before he had entered himself. He padded over to Maggot and leaned down towards the pup. "You'll be safer underground," Daze whispered to the younger wolf in hope to comfort him, "Wolves would usually sleep in caves, so how much different could some tunnels be?"

"Really?" Maggot said, craning his head up to look at Daze. He was quite a tiny young wolf, unlike his lean and muscular sister. Maggot began to wag his tail (which his sister never did). "I guess that makes sense. I hope it's warm in there too, 'cause I'm starting to get cold out here, and I wanna go to bed soon..."
He lay down on the ground, waiting for most of the other wolves to head inside. Churl and Solara had already gone. Maggot had shorter legs and wouldn't be able to keep up so easily.
Felon saw him lying down though. "On your paws, Maggot," she ordered him, nudging him to his feet.
Maggot grinned. "You know, if there's one thing that's good about being small," he thought out loud, "I'm going to be able to fit in these tunnels easily!"

Daze chuckled and glanced over at the tunnel to check how many wolves still needed to fit in the tunnels. He looked back at Maggot, "You should probably enter soon just in case we run out of room. You wouldn't want to be left out in the open!" He nipped at the pup playfully, letting his childish side get the better of him.

(I feel like I should get it, but I can't think of anything right off the top of my head. c: )

Trill peered into the tunnel. "Or... I could make us a protected shelter." She suggested. "Its easy for me to shift ground over land. Just not water..." She shivered remembering the river.

"Oh fine!" Maggot laughed, jumping up and bodychecking Daze. Because he was so small and weak, his tackles were probably lighter than a small songbird crashing into a wildcat. He tried to nip his packmate back, but he missed and tripped over his own paws. He regained his footing quickly and dashed into the tunnels. "Come and get me!"

"You could make an underground shelter," Felon said to Trill. "We don't want to place all the work on your shoulders though." She was showing a rare moment of concern. Usually she was just a soldier, and she paid attention to nothing but violence and training. "Come on. Let's go."

[universal song]

Trill jumped down and immediately adjusted to the darker tunnel. She looked around. It was damp and moist and dirty. Her favourite! She rolled onto the ground and smiled as she sniffed the fresh earth. "This is the best place ever!" She exclaimed, as she let dirt coat her fur.

Daze chuckled at the clumsy pup and chased after him into the tunnel. After entering, he stopped to look at dirt walls and ceilling. He wondered how deep and far the tunnels went, and he began to feel uneasy and claustrophobic. Daze realized that Maggot was getting farther ahead of him, and he decided that he need to watch over the younger wolf. Daze dashed after the pup in order to catch up.
