I like the quizzes and mini-games, but I don't think they should all be on the thread. You know how you can make rules and groups in your pms? I think there should be a codeword in the subject of the message. If you're wondering where I'm going with this, I have seen quizzes where only the first person wins, because no one knows if further entries are cheating or not. Maybe one day of the week could be purely for suggestions, with a special form, and a little treat for anyone who gives a suggestion.

i was thinking of different colour butterflies for different levels of currency, kind of the same system as bank notes

I like that system, I think it works pretty well; with my own adopts we use mushrooms in different colors.

if you're looking for bigger quiz events you could use survey monkey? (or whatever it's called)
I used it once for a trivia event and there was one quiz each day with trivia about the species and then whoever got the most points (questions correct) won currency for the species? (I actually think I did top 3) but if you wanted it to be smaller you could just do one quiz per day that you need it and have individual winners each day?
