The she-cat paused in a well-lit clearing surrounded by a barrier of thick brush, possibly a rabbit den hidden among the mix if one looked hard enough. Rabbits enjoyed finding the hardest of spots to get to just to inconvenience the hunter. Timidflight gestured with her slender tail towards the center, marking the boundaries as the edges of the clearing. "Lesson number one in battling -- never give up. You might be trampled, pushed, and scratched, but pain is only temporary. Even with a few clever moves that I will show you, it is never impossible to worm your way out of a sticky situation." Timid silenced for a moment, pondering over what she would mention next before continuing. "The first secret is your eyes. Your eyes can give away your every move. Keep them trained on their own orbs. Trick them into thinking you are going to do something you are not. Timid took a step back, crouching down slightly as a force of habit in preparation for an attack. Instead of staring into Smokepaw's eyes, she peered at her left paw, hoping she will notice. Finally . . . she attacked. She took a measured aim at Smokepaw's paw, curling her limb slightly in an attempt to take her legs out from under her. She was counting on Smoke to have seen what she was planning on doing, silently cheering her on to dodge or make a countermove.
