New stables I'm trying something different out, so I hope that goes well.
And I have decided that for now on, that my Friesians breeding/mates will stay within my stables. Those of you who have permissions now are still keeping them. And those of you who have mates with mine are still keeping them.
The only reason you will receive a breeding slot from me is if you need that certain horse in order to make a certain horse you're wanting or I gift you a slot.
Things may change starting in January, but for right now that's how it will go.

but to not cancel it completely: when i see that a certain person ignores the cooldown deliberately it will give a warning (accidents are not included, only deliberately actions)
Maybe change it to the person who sent the breeding in before the cool down gets the one month ban on breeding/comps? That way the owner of the horse and other innocent people who have slots don't get punished by someone else doing wrong?
Why would the people who sent in a breeding before hand get punished? If I remember correctly, Neri said those who sent in a breeding before hand won't count against them.
I think taking it away would be a good thing, because there can always be mix ups in the future; but always keeping it hidden for that certain person who ignores it can work.
really hope that made sense, I wanted to reply while getting ready for Thanksgiving.
I think Nikki meant the person who sent the breeding before the cooldown is over not before it was introduced :3
Unless I post somewhere, I'm not selling/trading closed species critters.

i think darkestwerewolfs and Crows idea for a breeding limit per month for horses and user wouldn't be so bad.
like a horse can breed 4 times a month (the same with the 1 week cooldown but easyer to keep track) and a user can breed 2 times a month (makes it easyer for artists too)
and foals will get an information that they are still foals and will grow up in 2 weeks and then they will be able to take part in breedings, comps and adventures
(because sending a foal in a comp or adventure is a strange thing to do too)
but when we do this, how will we keep track on the user limits? the horses would still be made by me like i do with the cooldowns, but we would need a side where we can keep track of the limit per user
or do you think a horse limit would be enough and a user limit isn't needed?
edit:
i hurt my hand on work today and because of this i will cancel the competition today and will judge it the next time, i hope this is okay. i would do it later, but i need to judge the 2 event comps at the 30. so i hope it is okay that i will judge the competition in 2 weeks

I think a user limit is a great idea. I might say that when you send in a breeding, as soon as it is accepted, you have to post the quoted breeding request, along with the date, in a certain thread?

I think a horse limit would be okay, but I know that breeding is a really big part of KF and I feel like limiting user breedings would lower the overall activity. And with the current cooldowns, I have 4 permissions to use, and if I can only use 2 of them per month, then the others will have to wait and anyone else waiting to use that horse that I am currently next to use will have to wait as well.
I think that the user cooldown might not be completely necessary, if a horse can only breed 4 times a month with a week cooldown between that time, I don't know if all 4 breedings could even fit in that said month. Not all months are exactly 4 weeks.

A kf can only breed 4 times a month anyway with cooldowns so that wouldnt really be a change i think the whole idea is good and i dont mind what happens. But as an artist, constantly feeling burdened to open breedings can really exhaust you so a 2 breeding per user per month is a good idea it also gives other, newer users chance to get a breeding in

this is hard to make a decision, users prefer breed limit on horses and artist prefer breed limit on users
but nobody should feel forced to open breeding slots, just open them when you have time
my own breeding slots are closed since a long time and will still stay closed for a uncertain amount of time because i know i can't manage breedings in the moment with my schedule
in the moment the whole khims are a bit slow with breedings and especially with adopts, we only have around 5 open adopts in the moment (we had 25 open adopts in the past XD), because of this i will open a new artist search in the next time to take some pressure from the active artists

Hmm you could try hiring artists to only do breedings or to only do adopts rather than both. Or maybe get guest artists for when breedings or adopts are running a bit slow.
Remember, we need artists to be able to do the breedings in the first place otherwise it doesn't matter how many times a horse can breed. Also, I think I'd rather wait for someone to use their breeding from one horse, and submit a different breeding than don't submit a breeding at all because the same people are taking up all the artists slots which there already aren't many of < Idk, that's just my reasoning behind having a user limit rather than a horse limit for breeding
also, I hope your hand feels better, Neri!!

Hmmm.. well we, the adopters, can only breed if artists open slots, and they don't have to open breedings if they don't want to. There could maybe be a general breeding rule that doesn't allow you to send a breeding to the same artist twice in a row. Maybe that would help? We could still send breedings but we would be limited, and the artists would have less pressure to open since some people wouldn't be able to send to them anyway.
