Alex sauntered down the steps and stopped at the bottom. "Hey there hansom. Looking for me?" Alex smiled crookedly at the snatcher.
"You sure know how to get a girls attention. I mean, stalking her all the way home? And then staring at her through a window? The devotion! It just makes a girl... want to puke. Honestly if you want to take me to... where was it that you want to take me?" Alex asked with mock sincereness. she had noticed that there were some people around, but no matter. Her question was met only with silence. "hmph. Its no fun when you don't play along." Alex grimaced.
Alex herd someone shout and looked to her left. Is that the boy from the coffee shop? Alex thought with shock. He was running toward the snatcher that was across the street... with another right behind him. Why is there a snatcher running after him? Could he be- no it wasn't possible. Was it? Alex drew her twin daggers.

Cody tripped. What the?! The snatcher had him again, but this time, much more firmly. He tried to elbow him again, but the man dodged, his grip still on cody. "Alright then." Cody had hoped it wouldn't come to this, but these guys were so annoying! With a smirk, Cody stopped struggling. Puddles disappeared in a cloud of steam. Seconds later, battering hail came pouring down all around the area, except for where Cody stood as he backed away from the confused and surprised snatcher. His gaze turned to the girl from the coffee shop, reflecting her confusion. The hail suddenly turned into heavy, pouring rain. Only this time, it was mostly directed towards the other snatcher, and it didn't touch the girl or Cody.

The snacher grabbed the boy while he tripped and held him firm. The boy tried to fight at first but then the boy went slack. At first she thought he had been rendered unconscious, but she saw his smirk. Then the impossible happened. The puddles of water evaporated from the floor, and brutal hail started to poor all around. Except around the boy any the snacher. An ice mage? Or maybe a water mage? Well,which one started it? It couldn't have been the boy. I'm the only one, arn't I? confused Alex stared, suddenly her daggers felt very heavy in her hands. Despite the impossible, it had happened. She had found someone like her. The hail has turned to rain, and it was pounding ice daggers. Every where except around her and the boy. Experimenltaly she took three steps forward. The rain still did not touch her. She grinned wickedly. Perfect, I hate the rain. And with this "bubble" keeping me dry, I can fight them with the upper hand! Alex flipped her daggers around and cought them in her hand. "Sorry boys, but it looks like you might be in a hospital for a while." Alex focused on her daggers and imagined that the blades were covered with her electricity. She ran at the snatcher in front of her and stabbed out him with a lightning blade. He grabbed her wrist and pushed her to the side. She dropped down and kicked his legs out beneath him. He grunted and fell on his back. Alex stood up and kicked his side. He cryed out and thrust his hand at her. A gust of wind blew her backwards, flailing into the air. Alex hit a wall and slid down it. She looked at the snacher just getting up. "I'm not going to go easy on you anymore. You are trying my patience." She said and pointed at the sky. She imagined a bolt of lightning coming down and striking the man, not to kill just to put into a coma for a long while. And it was done.

Cody stared in realization as the lightning struck the snatcher. She was like him. Only... like an opposite... quickly, he turned around and punched the snatcher so hard, he knocked him out cold, as well as give him a bloody nose. "Huh." He gazed down at the drenched snatcher and soggy hoodie, then at the one struck by lightning. As he looked around, the heavy rain lightened to a drizzle and covered the entire area. This was natural rain that he didn't cause. Of course, he could stop it, but he didn't mind the haze it caused or the comforting sound and smell of it. However, he kept it from touching the girl. She obviously didn't like it. Just then, he realized that she was kind of pretty. Ok. Really pretty. whatever. Cody put his hood back up and wiped a bit of hair put of his face. "You were at the coffee shop." He laughed, remembering the very awkward incident. He took out a ten dollar bill and held it out with a barely noticeable smile. "My name's Cody."

Alex stood up and wiped her mouth. God I hate these fools! She glared at the unconscious snatcher. Alex walked over to were the boy was. He had knocked out the snatcher, and was putting up his hood. "You were at the coffee shop." He said. He fished around in his pocket, took out a ten dollar bill and held it out to her. "My name's Cody." Alex grabbed the ten dollar bill from him, and their fingers brushed against each others. Alex quickly took her hand away and put the money in her pocket. "I'm usually called "You idiot!" or "Get back here!". I'm especially fond of "You insignificant wench!", but you can call me Alex." She smiled crookedly at the sky.

Cody laughed, audibly this time, instead of just keeping it to himself. Alex, huh? Cool. "So you uh... we both... the..." he stopped, awkwardly trying to think of how to ask this. What if she wasn't? What if she didn't? Nah. Of course she was and did. Otherwise, why was the snatcher after her. It's not like them to go off after women just 'cause they're pretty. Then again, Cody didn't know much about them. They were pretty hard to find. And avoid. "The lightning. You did it." He bluntly said the basics. How else to say it? "And the snatcher. He was after you?" A bit of hair fell in his face again and he moved it quickly. The rain completely messed it up while he was fighting the snatcher. The rain had gotten a bit heavier. "Let's go somewhere more... dry."

"Hmm..." Alex thought. Where to go? They couldn't go back to her place, the snatchers knew where it was now. She couldn't bring him to Maggie's, not yet, at least. Maggie did not trust men. They could always go to a local... "Oh! There is a place I know. Its not far from here. It might or might not be in the black market but," She wiggled her eyebrows at Cody, "I have never been one for the law."

Cody's thoughts turned from interested and curious to suspicious and slightly concerned. He had to stop himself from stupidly just saying, "uhh..." or staring at her. Instead, he just replied casually and gave nothing away. "Sure..." he suddenly became aware of the blood on his hand. gross. it must've came from the snatcher he had knocked out. He wiped his hand over it and the blood disappeared. Just then he noticed that Alex had daggers, and for all he knew, other lethal weapons. Sure, he could throw a knife or aim a gun, but there was no need to have them... Then again he was pretty good at just using his hands to fight. why would someone with powers need weapons?

Alex started to walk down the road. she came to an intersection and turned on 17th street. In between the pharmacy and the liquor store was a little alley. "Oh, and to answer your question, yes I did the lightning. I'm and electricity Mage. I can also control fire. Kind of weird how it works." Alex giggled. She tuned to look at Cody. "The snatchers have always loved trying to kill me. I think the actually have a list of snatchers that want the glory of killing me. I think they want to go home to their wive and kids saying 'Guess what kids! I killed Alexandria Shadowbane today! I'm defiantly going to get that promotion!'. They love to hunt me down, I'm not sure why. Oh wait... It might have been what happened in Beijing... heh" Alex grimaced.

Cody followed Alex down the alley, barely speaking. Most of the context was in his head. Pretty much all he said, and wanted to say, was "snatchers never find me... I've been found twice, and I'm pretty sure that the reason they want me isn't to kill me." Oh, no. What they wanted to do was much worse than death. They wanted to torture him. Use his powers for whatever they wanted. And it was all because of his power. Nobody knew what he could do. What he could be. It terrified Cody, to think of what would happen if the wrong person had these powers. And what us this power you might ask? Well, it is a well known fact that a human body is around 75% water. Cody can control water. Make it disappear, boil, freeze, move, just about anything. Cody could do this. It was an ability that few people from their dimension had. In fact, neither of his parents could do it. Cody walked silently next to Alex, who was still a stranger to him. He didnt want to show her this power. He was afraid that if he thought about it and used it, the power might get to his head.
