xxxxxxxoh, what a day. alexander had just gotten home, and he was absolutely starved. hearing the satisfying click of the door as the key opened the lock, he headed inside, calling out his sister's name. sadly it seemed either she was 1. asleep, or 2. not home. he frowned. he'd have to make dinner for himself. heading into the kitchen, dimly lit by the sunlight peering in through the two windows, alex opened the cabinet to look for something quick to make himself. his eyes landed on the familiar rectangular package of noodles. ramen. he grabbed it, his eyes quickly scanning over the instructions on the back. seemed simple enough. pulling out a pan and quickly filling it up with water, he put it on the stove top to wait for the water to boil.
xxxxxxxthree minutes slowly turned into seven minutes. seven turned to ten, turned to fifteen, twenty... gah, i can't take it anymore! why won't this stupid water boil?! he complained in his head, slamming his hands down on the stove angrily, spilling a bit of the water. ugh. great. he thought angrily, grabbing a sheet of paper towel and wiping it off.
