she heard the apprentice approach long before ryepaw came into view. her expressions remained blank, although her tail gave a quick flick. she turned to the apprentice, looking down with a small sigh. the warrior flicked her tail in jaya's direction. "A loner," she told ryepaw. "They're too close to the territory."

Ryepaw lifted her tail and flicked it wildly, "i can take them! I can take them!" she chanted bouncing lightly as she spoke. She looked over at the loner and squinted her eyes, "maybe i can run them off!" ryepaw replied. At this point ryepaw had high cobfendince and was sure she could run off anyone! Even if that wasn't completely true...

The mostly white calico she-cat had thought that a walk would help her stretch her legs. I love my kit, don't get me wrong here, but I cannot be cooped up in that den all day long. Oakpatch decided to take a walk around the borders.

the molly gave a threatening hiss, slapping her paw between ryepaw's shoulders to hold her in place. she bent down, anrrowing her eyes at the wistful apprentice. "don't you dare, you wild hairball," the she-cat snarled. "one strike from a well-trained cat and you will be crow food." she retracted her paw, flicking her tail. she sat down slowly, eyes narrowed. "we wait until she notices us. then we act."

Meeko just watched both of their mouths, seeing if he could pick up on anything. When he got a little annoyed with not being able to understand what was being said, he just started to look around their surroundings again.

Mizuno nodded at the question. "We come by here everyday, even before the border was there." The smokey black tom responded. He couldn't understand borders- it was just land that you spread your scent on. Mizuno and Meeko could claim their morning trail as their own territory if scent was all you needed to claim it. "So I'm assuming that you're in that clan?" He questioned.

alderstar began to purr as she took long stroked down her chest, listening to creamflower's statement. she looked up when addressed, and smiled at her fellow clan-mate. "ah, the usual. sleepless leader nights, worrying over borders, the good 'ol leader jazz. oh, yes, but other than that i'm doing wonderful! i love to see all my warrior and apprentices up so early, working their hardest to provide for you, your kits, and oakpatch and blackkit. it make's me so happy, and the medicine cats have been working their tails off. i'm expecting myself to go out with tornleaf or shellsplash soon to begin collecting new herbs. we're going to see what we can find that may benefit the clan, since leaf-bare is just over the horizon and we've not got much time." the big bengal sighed in relief, thinking of how beautifully her clan worked together since streamstar's passing, as well as the destruction of the last camp. she had hoped that none of the other cats noticed the shore rising once again, but she would soon trek away from the camp late nights to discover new places to live, if needed.

she rolled her eyes as he began to groom her, puffing up her thing fur as much as she could to tangle in his whiskers. dung-brain, heh. after snapping back into the real world from her thoughts, she began to process what shellsplash had just said. "oh, um, patrols?" she asked, whiskers twitching in apprehension. "i haven't been on one of those in a while. i kind of hide from whiteheart and alderstar, so really i've got no clue." she snorted, raising her tail in amusement. "but i'd assume well, it's mid leaf-fall and we've still got prey racked. i had a super juicy trout the other day, lucky catch from the crash-rocks." she let herself think of a way to tease up her tabby friend, then grinned. "oh, yes, you're a poor medicine cat- you've no idea what the crash-rocks are," she snorted, knowing very well that most herbs grow there. "ahhhh, but they're beautiful. the waves splash against your pelt and mist flies into the air, sparkling like silverpelt in the day. too bad you're stuck in camp all day with your smelly herbs."

"Why did I expect that much from you? You were always a lazy apprentice too." Shellsplash drew across his face an annoyed look from his whiskers getting tangled. With a sigh he tried to shake them out. "Trout sounds pretty good.. Speaking of prey! I haven't even eaten today. My mistakes! I need some good ol' prey." Looking towards the freshkill pile, the tom happily, and practically bouncing with excitement, made his way towards the freshkill pile and looked down. Pulling out his favorite, a small bird, he padded back with a watering maw. Sitting it down in front of Moonrose, he began to dig in. "After this would you care to accompany to the crash-rocks since i've never seen them apparently?" Stopping in between sentences, the tom reluctantly ate the prey. "It will give me a good excuse to pick up herbs along the way. We need to stock up on them since leafbare is coming. We're running low on chervil and plenty of others and it'll give you a job as well for the first time in many moons."

Sandtail

Taking in the faint scent of prey as well, Sandtail was proud of Rainpaw. "Very good Rainpaw! Lightstep would be proud of you if she were here right now." Smiling, the tom began to praise Rainpaw. He wasn't sure the last time she went out hunting, but surely a small amount of praise would encourage her to train more. Continuing down towards the old tree, Sandtail looked around. "I hope you two remember how to get here because you'll find yourself spending plenty of time here later on." He turned and looked at the two apprentices before carrying on. They weren't much further from the hunting spot. After awhile the patrol arrived. "Report back here after you catch a sufficient amount- and remember to watch out for other predators. They could be anywhere." Pulling off from the group, the tom headed up towards the trees roots. He parted his maw and picked up several scents all around him, despite how much of leaf-fall had already passed. Going after a fairly fresh scent, the tom crouch low. Upon later discovery he realized it was a small mouse. Creeping forwards, the tom waited for the right heartbeat. Once he felt comfortable, he pounced and swiped the mouse across the small opening into another branch before chasing it down and giving it the killing blow. Resting it between two close roots, Sandtail tried to hide it for when he came back later. He then turned and continued on hunting throughout the roots.

she snorted, then raised an eye at the tom standing before her. "really now? i don't have a job?" she stood up, barely matching her clan-mates height. "i'll have you know," she began, tail high as she made him follow her outside the entrance to the camp, leaping up a few rocks with swift leaps. she was small, so she could easily squeeze through cracks and jump across things. her pads were made for rocks, too, having been torn and blistered too many times to even be normal. one thing the obnoxious pointed she-cat enjoyed was climbing. as an apprentice she would always get in trouble for it, but really, every warrior new a scolding to her was a praise of attention. "that i have been keeping this clan amused since i came into the world." she flicked her tail, laughing as she leapt up once again to reach a tallrock that blocked their camp from any high winds that could seep into the short valley.

Following the she-cat out of the camp, he watched intently as she leaped from rock to rock. Even as an apprentice she was being obnoxious with her skill. "While you're up there Birdrose are there any cobwebs?" Mocking her with a new name, the tom laughed before looking in the direction of the crash-rocks. "Come on, I need to get some herbs you mousebrain." Shellsplash didn't wait for her to climb back down before continuing down the path. He knew she would catch up eventually since he would be stopping quite often for herbs. Now and then he came across some simple ones like bindweed borage leaves. "Its a shame most borage leaves are nearly out. A few clumps are still available- It's a good thing we don't have many queens right now, don't you agree?"

moonrose looked down at the thick-furred tom, arguably standing in the most dangerous spot of the tallrock. "i've always wanted the name bird," she replied with an aggressive snort, before taking a leap of faith down the rock and landing with a sharp thud, shaking off a paw before following behind him. "i don't know, i think we may have a new queen as soon as dewpaw and pricklepaw are made into warriors. everyone knows pricklepaw is head over heels for that she-cat," she commented, whiskers twitching. "either way, you're right. kinda sucks. ooooooh-" she broke off as mist started to blow towards the warrior, beginning to plaster her pelt against her skin. "that feels really nice. how long has it been since you've taken a swim?" she suddenly asked, pricking her ears up. she understood that he was a medicine cat and all, but of course they've had to have had some fun, right? at least once in a while?
