Man, you'd love the Unholyverse AU, if you haven't already read any of the fics surrounding it :^)
Gerard is a priest and does exorcisms and things through the Vatican; Frank ends up getting a cursed tattoo (which in this AU is his Lady of Sorrows tattoo) and Gerard's magic priest-y hands relieve him from the unberable pain of his curse. The whole magic hunter thing doesn't come into play until the 2nd part of the AU (as it is in multiple parts) but it's so freaking good.
It is a Frerard fic (with side Rikey? Raykey? Ray/Mikey, whatever you wanna call it) so if you don't like Frerard then it's probably not for you; however, if you're down for cute gay pining from both ends then it's great ^^
I won't link it because it has smut involved later on (it's wayy later on, don't worry!) and involves language not okay for children, but if you do want to read it then it's pretty high in most people's reclists (or you can google it easy peasy). It's a really good fic though, and I would honestly recommed it over even A Splitting Of The Mind (which.. confused me greatly towards the end) and probably The Dove Keeper too (which I haven't actually finished yet). It's one of those essential MCR fics, so if you haven't read it then I really do recommend it!

I have heard of unholyverse fics but I can NEVER commit myself to a big fanfic, although I have read asotm, which killed me honestly, just the end ho ho ho holy crap. I want to check out unholyverse fics and have heard really high ratings of it. I haven't read dove keeper yet though, is that good? You should read 50 thoughts that scare me, its just on wattpad but people have posted it on Ao3, not to sure about mychemicalromancefanfics.com (yeah thats a thing, rather good too). I'll try to read it but I don't think I'm up for a sad one, as I just read asotm again, Is unholyvers on ao3, as I can't currently use wattpad and I refuse to read anything on fanfiction.net Idk. I'll look it up though, thanks for the rec!
