Okayyy, time to answer some questions while I have an inkling of time - next time I post I'll actually respond to some people and get some replies out
What are your thoughts on being able to get tokens/items outside of events?
I think it would be interesting, but I feel that keeping them only available during certain times makes them more valuable. Maybe if it was a one week/weekend a month that they're available? I just know that with certain items, I don't have any need/desire to purchase or use them so my tokens aren't being put to use yet. I just think that making the tokens too available makes them too worthless. If we increase the amount they're given out, there'd have to be an inflation kind of thing, items would have to be worth more tokens.
What ways could users earn tokens? Should people be able to buy them with dA points/other currencies, or only for participating in the community?
I don't support the DA/CS currency exchange idea mainly because it makes the tokens easier to acquire which refers to my argument in the previous question. I mean, the currencies aren't available to everyone either, so it would create a greater gap between people who can afford whatever and those who cannot. If there was a purchase cap, it could work.
I do support the idea of drawing and writing for tokens, keeping my last ideas in mind, but I think it would be best if we got more than just gee to judge/rate them. I just don't want to worry about getting millions of things to grade all at once or have a lot of work for gee. If we broke it up between a couple of designated judges, it could go by faster.
Also, for those who mainly buy as opposed to draw art, maybe there could be an art point for acquired art? Like, if you bought the art instead of drew it, it would be worth half the normal points. Or, we could leave out otherwise acquired art in general for simplicity's sake.
Overall, my view on this is that adding more opportunities to earn/spend tokens certainly makes things more interesting at first, but it makes things more complex and I think in the long run we'll get a lot of built up tokens that we don't know what to spend on after a while. Keeping them saved for events makes them more rewarding and valuable.
With the tryouts up and running, are you planning on trying for an artist position? Why or why not?
Yeeeess??? I'd love to try out, but my Oekaki doesn't work, my tablet has been acting up in general, and I honest-to-goodness haven't designed a thing for a year.
I'd actually be more interested in trying out to be a nursery artist.
With the Halloween season just wrapping up, it's about time to ask - What did you and your Vaikis do for Halloween? Any favorite candies, cool costumes, or spooky movie marathons?
Additionally, American Thanksgiving is coming up quickly - What are you and your Vaikis thankful for?
You know what else is coming up fairly soon? My birthday! (And Christmas, I guess :p) When are your Vaikis' birthdays, and what do they want for them and/or Christmas, if they celebrate?
TOtally want to answer, running out of time, I will edit or repost later!
I'm not really active here anymore. Please don't ask for my pets or OCs!
