dfab, transitioning currently, [will hc through this], goes by they/them for now, he/him tentatively??
bruised knees and tired eyes

- moved to the u.s. when they were really young
- was illiterate at seven and unable to speak english when they were thrown into public school
- was always a really quiet child?? didn't make friends easily
- had a hard time learning english and still has a heavy accent [middle eastern]/prefers to listen to other people instead of talking themselves

- was really good friends with their [hc] sister jilo [owned by angelshy] until they got really insecure and stopped talking to her [they had a teasing relationship and the teasing sometimes hit a little deep once they got really unhappy]
- jilo started doing dangerous things to get seph's attention back and seph couldn't bear it
- grew up in a really conservative family who were extreme on traditional roles; left as soon as possible and it made it even harder for seph to create relationships
- family also made it harder to realize their identity and ended up shoving it in the back of their mind
- basically they were in a bad place in school and started noticing unsightly things about themselves about the time other kids did, they were pretty easy to make fun of but sort of powered through it?? had a couple friends but could never get close - their friends always had closer other friends

- high school they gained a few more friends and were kinda known as the funny quiet kid, people would come to them for advice, they got a bit more confident and blunt with their humor [never had close friends though, kinda floated through. they liked being semi-transparent in the scheme]
- they retained that blunt sense and if you get them to open up enough they're actually pretty funny though their humor isn't for everyone
- they emulate the jokes that were made towards them though they hate to make anyone else feel bad
- grades started to slip and parents were threatening to kick them out based on other behavior; stopped trying to transition to male
- got really tired almost always/sluggish/started wearing the mask to both hide [edgy] and protect during gem cutting
- went through a weird phase in late teens [basically emo phase] where they were obsessed with mutated things and they retained a lot of that curiosity
- works in gemology and they really like shiny things
- also shiny, happy people, but they're afraid to taint their mood and would prefer to watch them

- live on their own // no pets bc according to ten year old them after the family dog died "everything they touch dies"
- kinda true, they have hurt a lot of people while they grow apart from them unknowingly just trying to protect themselves
- also they can't grow plants for the life of them but really like the aesthetic
- has this [something similar] tattooed very small on their thighs and it's kinda comforting? reminds them of the needed balance between the two and how no matter what's happening they can take control of themselves and make it work
