Cole walked to the swamps and arrived shortly after he left the clearing. The male saw frogs and other bugs living in this place. He smiled to himself. Their life must have been so simple; so peacfull. The male crouched down best the edge of the swamp and saw a toad; he sniffed it and sneezed. The toad croaked at him which made Cole laugh.

Vex kept walking; farther and farther from camp, with every step she took the clearing became smaller and smaller. The alpha walked to a group of stones that was a burial mound for her mother and father. She had always wished to be an alpha; but not the way that she got it. Vex sat down in front of the stones. She bowed her head and closed her eyes. 'Mother. Father. Please help me; my pack is the smallest that it's ever been and I haven't seen or smelt another wolf for miles. What have I do wrong or what am I not doing right? I need you guidance. Storm. Char. Answer my cries before I lose hope. The alpha spoke to the stones that laid before her though no answer came to her calls. She sighed and turned left, to make another journey.

He shook his head as he ran. 'No let's stick together. It wouldn't be the best idea to split up because what if one of us gets injured.' Akela said quickly. The river shouldn't be too much farther but the giant didn't seem like it wa giving up.

She nodded. The fact that the giant was basically on their heels, worried her. She figured it was best to take them further from the camp, so maybe it was the best they happened to find them. She tried to keep as close to him a possible. She followed him more than her own instinct, for some odd reason.

He started falling asleep, but not too deep. He started dreaming of his old pack, his family. He misses them. This new pack, strong but small, wasn't the same. His old pack wasn't huge, but small packs are dangerous. When he wakes up he keeps his eyes open. He knows he has to be as strong as he can to keep everyone safe.

The albino thought of an idea. It was very dangerous but it could give Squirrel more time. 'Whatever you do, just keep running. Don't worry about me; I'll be fine. Run for the river. I will meet you there.' Akela spoke right before he made a sharp right and circled around the giant, now he was running behind the beast. The male leaped forward and the highest spot he was able to reach was the giants lower back. The mammoth was luckily no where to be seen so he had time as well. The giant gurgled in pain and stopped running when Akela sunk his teeth into him. The wolf dre blood and was able to drop the beast before it swung around with its hand and knocked Akela several feet into a tree. The male wolf cried out but regained his feet. He growled aggressively before charging at the giant and leapt right for his neck. This time the giant was bent over low enough to where Akela was able to make his mark but not a moment after he made contact; so did the giant. The beast growled and grabbed the wolf and easily lauded him into the woods. Akela hit his side on a tree and eventually blacked out before he saw the giant running back to get Squirrel.

She looked back at him in disbelief. He said not to separate, but she did what he said anyways. She turned and kept running towards the river. Not before long, she made it. She turned around to see if Akela or the giant were anywhere near, but she didn't see either of them. It send chills down her spine. Howling was the only thing on her mind right now, but that may attract the giant. She decided to wait a moment before making any haste decisions. But that moment ended quick when she heard the giant coming in her direction. She panicked, Akela didn't stop him, and Akela was no where to be found. He may be hurt or dead, which is exactly why they didn't split before. But she didn't have time to think, so she ran. Along side of the river she ran as fast as she could, but the giant had longer legs than her. Disappearing into the woods was all she could think of. She quickly jumped into the water wetting her fur and made a runt into the woods. She quickly roles in some dirt, covering her white fur even the slightest. She hopes the dirt would help her campflage and cover her sent. She ran quickly into the woods, not looking behind her.

The male froze in his thoughts as he heard a distant howl for help. Giant? That's not possible. Not this close. Without thinking any longer he ran into the direction of that howl before he picked up the scent of the wolf. Akela. Cole ran faster but his scent was everywhere. What happened!? Cole howled, hoping to hear another front Akela to locate him.

Vex froze in her steps; a distance howl. Not one but two. Akela. Cole. What happened. A giant!? This close! The alpha took off in a sprint into that direction. She stumbled over her thoughts trying to remember. The river. They went to the river. She picked up her speed and was able to pick up Cole, Akelas and Squirrels scent though Squirrels was faint. Vex howled in response. The alpha was getting closer as the scent grew stronger. Vex almost stumbled over the body of Akela before she managed to stop. Blood. 'Akela!' The growled sadly. Vex throughout a howl to Squirrel; she needed her location.

The male awoke. He wasn't sure how much time had pass but the sun was still up; or it was the next day.
He didn't know. Every inch of his body was sore but he had to meet up with Squirrel at the river. He followed a blood trail which was probably the giants but he never found it's body and his heart sank. Squirrel wasn't at the river and neither was the giant. Akela howled to Squirrel, holding she would hear, he also howled to everyone in the pack, calling for help. Akela passed out again from blood loss.

Her heart races as she hears the pack howl back to her, she stopped in her footsteps when she hears Vex call. She howled back, but the howl of Vex was so faint she didn't think her voice could radiate a sound like hers. After she heard Akelas howl, she was ready to howl back before she realized the giant had followed her howls. She was back on toes running away. She kept track of her turns so she wouldn't get lost.

He jumped out of his den after all the howls. It had to be urgent. He howled, letting them know where he was. He was so afraid of leaving the camp, but he wanted to help them.

Cole come up on Vex and Akela. The albino didn't look so good and Vex looked distraught. This was serious. He opened his mouth to say something but Vex beat him to it.

Cole nodded to his alpha before he picked up Cole and placed him on his back. Jogging back to camp he placed him in his den gently before running over to Trex. 'You must go to the river and follow Vex's scent. There is a giant and they will need your help to bring it down. I need to watch over Akela.' He spoke quickly before turning on his heels to help Akela in any way that he can.

Vex turned to Cole. 'I need you to take Akela back to camp now. Keep him safe and make sure he keep breathing. Tell Trex to come to the river and follow my scent. We've got a giant to kill.' The alpha spoke with determination before she jumped into the river and emerged on the other side. Vex sprinted at full speed and tried to follow the giant and Squirrels scent as much as possible. So many turns; this giant was relentless. Vex howled to Squirrel telling her she was coming.

The howl made her feel better. But the giant was coming quick, she knew he could see her. She tried running in Jagged lines, but it was no use. She decided to wait for help before she went to attack it.

He nodded before running after him. He made it to the river, he could barely smell her scent. But he chased the scent he could smell off of the giant.

Cole padded back to where he sat Akela and began to clean his wounds. The male grabbed a few things from around the forest and brought them back to treat Akela. He chewed some Goosegrass and placed the paste on the open wounds of the wolf. He wrapped Cotten around the paste to keep it in place. Cole placed a poppy seed inside of Akelas mouth and forced him to swallow it. The male did what he could for now; now he just had to wait for Akela to wake up.

The scent of the giant her with each step she took. Vex growled as she sprinted. She knew she was catching up. 'Im coming Squirrel!' The alpha barked. Vex saw the giant and her blood boiled inside of her. The beast was enraged and it was only a matter of time before it tore Squirrel to pieces. Vex leaped into the air when she was only several inches from the giant and bit down on the back of its neck. Sinking her teeth into its flesh she calmly old hear the gurgle in its throat as it tried to roar. Vex used her claws to rip open its flesh on its back; easily tearing through the muscle but it kept trying to grab at her.

She turned after she heard Vex's call and the giant shriek. She also jumped at the giant, pulling away pieces of its throat.

Trex was right behind Vex, and he pounced on the giant as soon as Vex did. He bit onto the Giants throat, ripping and destroying the spinal cord.
